Went out to camp, regulator failed after one meal.
I thought I bought the best when it came to reliability. I planned my first trip with my son—just the two of us—way out in the middle of nowhere, and I brought my trusted Jetboil Genesis. It worked fine last night for dinner. This morning, though, we went to make breakfast and… nothing. We tried everything. After getting our Starlink set up, we did some research and found out this has been a known issue for years with the regulator on both the Genesis and HalfGen. Apparently, it isn’t a big enough problem for Jetboil to do anything about it. I would recommend anything but a Jetboil Genesis or HalfGen. A Coleman may not be as sleek or modern, but at least you can count on it to work when you need it. Now I have to spend the next two hours packing up camp and driving two hours home after only one night of camping with my son. Thanks a lot, Jetboil. Maybe it’s time to focus on fixing this product instead of pretending the problem doesn’t exist. 😒
