Extremely Disappointed
Extremely Disappointed – Poor Quality & Absurd Customer Service Policy As a longtime Jenni Kayne customer who owns multiple sweaters and home items, I was shocked by the appallingly low quality of the Woven Raffia Tote - especially given its steep price point. Within minutes of using it, the bag began to fall apart. This wasn't a matter of long-term wear or misuse; it was immediate, obvious deterioration that no high-end brand should find acceptable. When I reached out to customer service, I was offered an extremely limited "courtesy" solution - either a replacement or store credit - because, according to Jenni Kayne, they do not accept returns for items that have been "used." In other words, once you've dared to touch the item and discover it's defective, you're out of luck. Even more baffling was the follow-up message from a manager who essentially blamed me for the damage and advised that, to preserve the bag, I should keep it out of direct sunlight, and protected from being touched. Unless you live in the Biosphere this bag is not for you. A fashion item that can’t withstand sunlight or air? That’s a product flaw, not user error. I’ve been a loyal customer for years, but this experience was the final straw. Jenni Kayne’s customer service policies are clearly designed to protect the brand, not the buyer. I’ll never shop here again. I’d advise others to think twice before investing in the brand - beautiful aesthetics mean nothing when quality and integrity are this compromised.
