I've completed the course at ITA and I'm beyond glad I made this decision as it has turned my life around.
During the 10 day period, I learned a solid basis of tattoo techniques, everything to know about health and safety, how to license myself and I received my own tattoo machine which was a great start. We learned about needle configuration, shading techniques and colour packing. In these 10 days you get a sum up of years of valuable experience in a very easy to understand format.
I always felt welcomed and looked after, had wholesome and inspiring conversations with my mentors which not only made me feel at ease during my practice but motivated me to push forward. I was always answered my questions when I was in doubt and demonstrated again and again when I couldn't wrap my head around a technique.
I'm now a fully licensed tattoo artist and I couldn't be more grateful for finally being able to do what I love and I'm passionate about. Doing this course was the best thing that ever happened to me and I highly recommend it to anyone who's aspiring to become a tattooist. Special thanks to Maz and Petros for all of their help and support, they've been an absolute gem to have as as tutors.

Tattoos & courses
Lydia’s started my horror sleeve with Chucky, Maz’s put an absolute beast of a crocodile on my back, and Nas rebuilt my sabertooth tiger chest piece. I did a tattoo course there as well that was delivered professionally, and now have gone on to have a successful career from it

Very detailed course in a very fun and relaxed environment. The tutor Maz is great and extremely supportive. The course starts with basic theory and develops into learning more advanced techniques such as fine/bold line tattoos, colour packing, creating realistic textures and smooth gradients. It was a great starting point in my tattoo journey and would recommend to anyone who is serious about starting a tattoo career.

Not worth it at all (part2)
(2/2)
Another day Maz had a client(who had only visited a day or 2 prior for booking/consultation)so again we were left to our own devices with some fake skin+the occasional look in on someone tattooing, why would you take on clients during training hours/days,it wasn’t as if she’d booked ages in advance+he didn’t want to cancel, she booked while we were training+he still agreed when he could have easily told her his availabilities after the course had finished. Another day bailiffs showed up wanting to talk to one of the apprentices.Another day a client came in with her young child+left him unattended to run round the room+between the desks whilst we were working. It was very common for people who didn’t work at the studio to visit+often times they’d watch us practicing which made me extremely uncomfortable+self conscious+would also be obnoxiously loud+chatty when we’re trying to learn,it was very inconsiderate+distracting. +if tattooing yourself(without numbing,in a cramped area, with multiple people walking in+out, some of which bumped into me whilst I was permanently inking my skin!)wasn’t enough,a friend of Maz’(a tattoo artist but doesn’t work there)came into the studio+started critiquing me,bare in mind I’ve been tattooing for less than 10 days+this is the first tattoo on real skin,ITS NOT GONNA BE GOOD,but even worse when a random guy beefs you whilst you’re in pain+filled with anxiety from tattooing a below average tattoo on yourself,he shouted at me but thankfully he left soon after. Wasn’t taught about disposable grips/tips,machine e-give,the stroke of a machine,I heard a lot of the artists mention a machine“hitting too hard”what does that mean??I asked about all of these things+the answer I got was“we’ll cover that later”+of course we never actually covered that later.Didn’t teach us how to tattoo fur even though it was on the “agenda”+they’ve taught other students which just proves how unorganised everything is. I have been in contact with them+explained my worries;I’d spent all my savings to attend+I felt like I hadn’t learnt everything I was promised, they kept trying to call me+when I answered all they said is that they’ve had some success stories+I just need to keep practicing(but how can I improve from practicing if I don’t know everything I need to)I kept trying to explain what they hadn’t taught me but they kept interrupting me to focus on one thing I’d mentioned, they offered I come back to the studio for a day or 2 to watch them work(I guess to cover their ass)but why should I if they promised I’d learn everything I need in those 10 days. They even had the audacity to say I should recommend 1 of my family members book in with them+join them so I can observe+they can teach me anything they’d missed, but after my experience I wouldn’t recommend anyone visit there.
