Progress formerly IpswitchReviews of ipswitch.com

I have used IPSwitch desktop FTP client software for about twenty years, and have always been very happy with it. This last purchase was a replacement copy of version 12 for me, having had to reinstall Windows. After my data restore, I could not locate my original copy and could not download another. After a new purchase, the software cannot be downloaded without joining the IPSwitch user club, and unfortunately I could not get the sign-up page to submit with any browser -- the form is not complicated, nor the button difficult to click. After a service email and phone call, the next business day a support representative created a profile for me and all was well. It remains that after I buy something I want it delivered. I do not prefer to have to join a user group in order to receive the goods.

I have been running the application WS_FTP Pro since the days it was free for the MIT community. Lately it has a bug. When uploading from my Windows PCs (Windows 7 and Windows 10) to my Linux servers, in high traffic conditions, I keep on getting a message with words as follows: "File is already present [Skip] [Resume]" [I do not recall the precise wording]

All good. Backup cd arrived quickly.

It is a good product. The performance is as expected.

I had the old free version of WS_FTP. Had to purchase the professional version of Ipswitch when WS_FTP no longer functioned properly after many years of reliable service. The professional version I have now works fine, but I liked the old free version better. It was simple, and it did the job,

The software works well. I am partial to the old "LE" version, it was comfortable and almost 100% intuitive, However the new version is good. Setup and operation is simple. What is not simple is trying to get Ipswitch to respond to my complaint about a cd backup copy which arrived badly damaged due to skimpy packing/ protection, and some ham-handed Neanderthal postal worker. Not an easy company with which to work. In fairness - I have a promise of a replacement disk, but my computer dosn't work on promises.

WS-FTP was my first love, and has been my only experience of file transference on or off-line. Just one beef occurs to me and that is the tortuous business of the actual download and purchase - - there must be a better way. Otherwise, if I had been fore-warned about the Trust-pilot invitation I might have made notes regarding the download and purchase rigmarole. In a word I have used WS-FTP for about 20 years, and (in conjunction with NVU) it has been my rock. Many thanks.
