I put myself into a bad situation, admittedly. I had bought a phone (a Samsung Galaxy S8+) from someone online. They said it was good, clean, unlocked, even sent me a clean IMEI when I asked for it. But... I wasn't careful enough; they sent me another IMEI than the one for the actual phone, and it turned out that they had reported it stolen and filed an insurance claim the same day I bought it. I thought I had lost out on my money. Then IMEI Gurus came into the picture, and completely turned this situation around. I can't possibly express my gratitude enough!
