If I could leave a 0 I would. This company needs to be highly investigated. I took my car in 9/2 for a battery light flashing, I was told it was the Alternator. I gave the OK to replace the part along with the other items they stated were safety issues, this visit was just under $4,000.00. A week later the battery light starts flashing, brought the car back in they said, we just need to investigate more.....after leaving me stranded for 4 days with no cars, because they would not return calls or updates and then left for the weekend. They said well, we had some alternators that were bad so we think if we put in another one that will fix it. Put in another one, a week later the light starts flashing again. Now they are stating we just don't know what to do or how to fix it... How do you make a car you don't know how to fix? They said the tech at the dealership if the computer doesn't tell them what is wrong they reach out to some person in Georgia and that person isn't' even in the state looking at my car. I was told after 2 months of my car not fixed that maybe there is a part to fix it but it will take several weeks to get in, this part shows up but now there is no one in the state to know how to put in the part, they'll have to send a technician to come fix it, then like normal never hear back from them. Finally get another call, this is a new gentleman that states the person who I was speaking with is no longer there and my only options now are to send the car to Georgia or have them buy the car back. I asked about the part...this part now does not exist. With how bad the communication is, I did not want my car going over state lines, so I asked what my buy back options are, to this day I have not received a call or email advising me on how they would buy it back. I finally took it to a mechanic for a second opinion, this mechanic went wire by wire, and did a deep dive to find what is wrong. They got to the alternator and found its was super faulty. I have reached out to Hyundai, showing them proof they have sold me a faulty part and I would like my money back. They still have not responded. This company is not trustworthy, they will scam you, treat you poorly and take your money and put in faulty parts so you just have to keep coming back to give them more money. They need to be stopped.

I have a Hyundai Sonata that I purchase somewhere else. This is the only Hyundai dealership in my area. Boy I can tell you this is absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had in a car dealership. I stopped by because I had an issue with my door and the gentleman at the front name Percy was taken care of me. But when I addressed my issue with my door lock and he told me it was gonna be $200 for evaluation, I started to walk out. I should’ve just left right then and there and never came back. But I stayed and let him take my car in to get checked out. He said it should take about an hour or 2 check out my door. After a couple hours he finally comes and gets me and tells me everything wrong with my car and draws me up a quote for about $3800. I told him I just wanted my door fixed order the part and let me go on my way. 6 hours later after asking him to get my car when it was just sitting in the bay he was telling me that they have a new computer system and he’s just now learning it. Also, in the service department there was about 7 to 10 employees just hanging out doing absolutely nothing and when I address I just want to get my car so I can leave they kept telling me only Percy can take care of you. Needless to say by hour 6 I was very angry and upset. As I’m staring at my car for two hours in the receiving bay, I kept telling him over and over again I want my car I just want to leave. as no one else could help me except for this guy Percy. They display a banner stating that they’re the number one in customer service and that is the biggest crock of you know what I’m watching at least 7 to 10 people stand around with their thumbs up to you know what. When I went back to get my car door fixed $820 later to get a door lock fixed is absolutely ridiculous! the way these people just brush you off and can’t take care of you. Supposedly their number one in customer service is an absolute joke. I’ve seen at least 5 other people get upset with this guy as he was just brushing everybody off and just trying to move through the day. I love my Hyundai Sonata, but I’d rather travel hours to get better service at a Hyundai dealership than the North Charleston location! When you drive into the dealership, there is people standing out front, literally hovering over your door to sell you a car, but when you get into the service, you’re nothing more than just a number! Horrible service, ridiculous prices and just an overall unpleasant experience! Just to give you an example of their ridiculous prices besides my door, lock valve seal which you can get for a few dollars in an auto parts store they were going to charge me $70 for just the part not including labor. I hope to never return to this location ever again, as I don’t feel valued as a customer whatsoever!

My 2020 Hyundai Tucson has an active recall regarding the anti-lock brake system which has caused a dozen engine compartment fires this year. I was preparing for a family visit, which required a 7-hr drive from Columbia to Tampa, FL and was trying to get my recall addressed before making the drive. To do so, I contacted the surrounding Hyundai dealerships starting with those in Columbia and then extending my search. ONLY Hyundai of North Charleston could assure me that they had the parts in stock, and appointment time available prior to my trip departure. North Charleston is 98 miles, and almost 2 hours away from my home. I took the day off from work in order to make the near 2hr drive to my service appointment. When I arrived, I was told by the woman working the counter that she was "pretty sure they didn't have the parts in stock but she would call and check". This was already concerning because my appointment was contingent on the parts being in stock. When she called to her coworker he said that they had "one set of parts in stock, for emergencies only". What could be more emergent than a safety recall? She led me to the service manager. The service manager stayed sitting at his desk and invited me to sit, where he preceded to tell me that there were no parts in stock. I told him, that I had drove 2 hours for this appointment, and had been assured days earlier that parts were available, AND that I had just overheard that there was in fact one set of parts available. So he was lying. He then told me, yes, there was one set left but he was setting those aside for a potential sale that was pending out on the sales floor. A POTENTIAL sale, that was PENDING. I, am already a paying Hyundai customer. I had already made an appointment, related to the sale I had already given Hyundai. That appointment was based on a promise by that dealership that parts were in stock. Those parts, were required because the car I had been sold had a safety issue, that was causing fires, and I was getting ready to take a road trip. He was belittling. He disregarded my safety. He didn't honor my appointment. He lied to my face. And my car left the dealership, 2 hours and 40 mins after I had departed my home for the appointment, no safer than it was when I arrived, and ready to make the 98 mile drive back home. I have never felt so disrespected and disregarded. I had to leave my team for a whole day for no reason, and am required to take an additional day off from work for a new appointment.
