The course has enough free content to be educational, at least for the introduction in Java, which is my field of interest

What I really like of Hyperskill is the integration with JetBrains IDE. A learning tool that integrates and gives an opportunity to get to know our IDE better (key shortcuts, preference changes, tabs etc.). When I got my PHPStorm company licence it wasn't hard to work with because I use some IDEs since 90s but still. There's a lot new options that JetBrains Academy plugin and Hyperskill help to learn. Only one thing I miss on the Hyperskill page is to have two study plans opened. Or easier way to jump from study plans like I want to learn C++ from the beginning and develop my SQL skills. Great work Hyperskill Team!

Ok, I am using the platform for a fair amount of time now, and overall I really like the format, exercises and projects. However, there are some disadvantages: 1. Firstly, the order of the topics when learning something is not natural and as it should be!!! For example, I am learning currently the Comparable interface then databases then Comparator interface (does not make much sense since both interfaces are mainly used for the same thing and should be learned after each other). 2. Sometimes, the theory behind the exercises is not discussed in the lecture. 3. And last but not the least, IT IS A REALLY EXPENSIVE PLATFORM! Actually, I believe it is the most expensive one...In my opinion it should not cost more than 20-25$ per month, but it costs 50$!!! Just unbelievable.

I have been following the courses on programming for a while on free account. I think the content is well organized and parallel to the computer science concepts at universites but ofcourse with a simplified and basic approach. I do not expect a fully hands on course that is offered by some other bootcamp or diverse other organizations. I have tried once the project and the usage of your own IDE to solve the problems ir projects is a big advantage of Hyperskill on intellj products. I highly recomm3nd hyperskill if you intent is to learn and practice a new programming language in entry level. However, I have issues to justify the high pricing, I believe that it should be lower than 50cad / month.

Their content is quite extensive, explanations and content are clear though you can pick out one or two topics that need a bit of clarity. Earning points is a great incentive as well as one's ability to redeem them. It encourages one to problem solve daily. The projects are a plus.
