HollieGuard took £79.99 from my account as “HG Extra” the website doesn’t include this information so I contacted my bank as I experienced this charge without warning with no emails or notification. The response I got from HollieGuard was shocking. “we did introduce subscription reminder emails in March of this year therefore, you should’ve received a reminder. Unfortunately, the email logs of the sent renewal emails weren’t in place at the time of your dispute therefore, I’m unable to provide a log of it. It is worth noting that although the CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) suggests that a reminder email is sent, the CMA guidance is not legally binding. Therefore, it is in good faith that these reminders are sent, not a legal requirement.” So the company now has a reminder service in place but magically the emails never arrived… shocking!
