HipStampReviews of hipstamp.com

My experience with HipStamp has been extremely disappointing. To begin with, we lost almost 10 days dealing with unnecessary complications regarding email verification and account setup. Eventually, we subscribed to the Starter Store plan, costing approximately €7 per month including taxes. We also invested considerable additional time and effort into creating detailed, professional listings. We are not talking about a few random stamps. We have an extensive, carefully curated philatelic collection, including specialized historical albums, rare postal issues, occupation stamps and postal history material. Our listings feature professional photographs, detailed descriptions and carefully researched pricing. And the result? **Virtually no views, no meaningful buyer interest, and no sales.** For a specialized marketplace that charges sellers a monthly subscription, this level of visibility is extremely disappointing. What exactly are we paying for if our listings are barely being seen? On top of the subscription, HipStamp charges selling fees and offers additional paid advertising to increase visibility. It feels unreasonable to keep paying simply for the possibility of being noticed. After investing so much time preparing a substantial, professionally presented collection, I expected considerably more from a platform dedicated specifically to philately. **I cannot recommend paying for a HipStamp subscription based on my experience. Without meaningful visibility, even the best collection has little chance of finding a buyer.**

These people love to suspend accounts while keeping your money. And if they suspend your account, they won't tell you why, they just ignore all communication. My father did business with them about 10 years ago. It ended with him being upset and being critical of the company and especially the management. He didn't do anything wrong other than that, no fraud, and he didn't cost them any money. But they suspended his account anyway, a really petty and arrogant thing to do. A couple of days ago I signed up for an account, despite the way they treated him. They instantly suspended me!!!! I'm not my father!!! They have ignored all communication attempts, including BBB and attorney general complaints. There's a reason these people are rated F on the BBB, and not much higher anywhere else. Because they're not a good place with which to do business. BEWARE!

I have been purchasing stamps from Hip Stamp as well as the website owner's precursor site, Stamp Wants since 2007. Their search engine is specifically designed for stamp collectors to search for stamps by country and catalog number. You get results specific to your search and not a load of extra stuff to sort through. As a lifelong philatelist (and APS member), over the years I have bought many different lots from a large number of dealers both in person and online. The stamp dealers I have dealt with on Hip Stamps have been honest and when I did have an issue, I was refunded by the dealer. Just about every dealer has mailed stamps to me promptly. That has been very much the rule and not the exception. With the current USPS policies on mail processing times (which is a failure the Postmaster General and USPS management), I do allow for an extra few days for them to process the mail than before. Pay attention to the individual dealer's reviews on Hip Stamp (or any other philatelic site). If someone has a long history of good reviews, then you should feel more comfortable purchasing from them. Also note that postage costs do vary by dealer so take that into consideration when you buy as well. I generally buy from a single dealer at a time to help control postage and handling costs. Many of their dealers offer very low shipping rates. I will continue to buy from dealers on Hip Stamp when I am looking for stamps for my collection. It is in my opinion the best site for postage stamp collectors.

From step 1, HipStamp suspended my account because the yearly payment failed, at a time I selected to pay for just 1 month to try them. Fortunately, I did not have as much in my card for a year. They could just have a polite message like "Payment failed, please try again". The positive thing though is that their support following my complaint was great. They lifted the suspension and in a way apologised for this.

They said they temporarily suspended my account for no reason and charged me an account maintenance fee. No one communicates with you or informs you. HipStamp has become very strange and has changed a lot. I recommend blocking online payments on your bank account or changing your payment card.

Can you tell me why you suspended my account when I paid the subscription? I just subscribed today and when I started, they started suspending my account after you took the monthly subscription. This is a scam. You suspended my account why and you already take the subscription you already take my money off me why I’m still suspended what do I call this scammer

Did multiple trades from Hipstamp.com in 2023. I bought from 2 sellers on the site. Both were very accurate in their item descriptions. Shipped items promptly. Happy with the experience
