Don't waste your money.
I got Healthy Paws insurance when I adopted my GSD, Waldo in July of 2012. I have maintained the policy and even added my pitbull, Bruce in 2016. Last year was the first time Waldo had claim. It was at that time that I learned how the Healthy Paws deductible works. We have a $500 deductible - so I figured the first $500 of eligible bills would go to my deductible and then they would start covering at the 80/20 split. - WRONG. They reduced my eligible bills by 20% (my copay amount) which meant that I had to pay $625 before my deductible was met. This is not how other insurance companies do it. I was still not going to make a bad review based on that - I just figured that I learned how they did business. The issue is that I got my annual increase email and my premium is scheduled to go from $133.96 to $319.64. Yes, I got a 240% increase. Waldo's insurance cost was $66.98, new rate $203.92 (304% increase) Bruce's rate was $66.98, new rate $115.72 (173% increase) Total amount of my claims paid $1,174.64. Not very much. And now my new rates would collect that amount in just under 7 months. Healthy Paws is great - as long as you don't need them and they collect your premiums. So sad that I paid them all these years.
