I purchased RV roadside insurance to cover any RV or camper problems on a cross country trip. Our camper blew a tire on Highway 15 just north of Salt Lake City. I called Good Sam, they texted me the name of the repair company and there aprox arrival time, about 40 minutes, after an hour I called the tow company, they had never been contacted by Good Sam and they don't contract with Good Sam. A Utah highway patrol officer helped me changed the tire. My brother tried to use the Good Sam service, they let him down twice. (He laughed at me after he heard my problem) I called Good Sam to complain, they said they were soooo sorry and offered a $100 refund, the problem is a paid about $165, they then raised the offer to $151.04. Good scam, you pay $160, they don't deliver and then they offer a lesser amount. Now NO check, first they say they sent it to the wrong address, still waiting, my first contact was November 2, it's December 20 now. AVOIDE THIS COMPANY. Their roadside assistance was horrible, their customer service is even worse. (They did say were sorry about a dozen times) 2024 Update: 2nd check was somehow lost again (Or never issued) and their going to issue a third refund check. What a joke, avoid this company!

I had a tire blow out! Called good Sam talked to some one they said they get right on it, 3hours later called back got some one that hung up on me called again. They Sid they would take care of it. And call me back, 2 hour go buy called back they would contact. The service text and call back or have them call. Another hour went by 6 hours now! My wife called same story. This time they said they had no record of our Serive # Said they woul call back. Crickets!!!! I got on the phone and call some one my self they were there in 15 minutes, help put on the spare. Some one finally called. 8hrs. Later and asked if we still needed help. When this year runs out i will not use GoodSams ever again a waste of time and money!!!!

I've been a member of Good Sam Roadside for about 15 years. Never had to use their service, but pay just in case something fails. My daughter and her husband are also members. Tonight my son-in-law's truck lost a tire. He called in for a tow. Four hours in a major city, Las Vegas, NV, and no tow. I just called to complain. No explanation. Good Sam said they just dispatched another tow company. Ridiculous. My Good Sam is up for renewal. I'll pass. I also have AAA. Never had this issue with them. Update: The tow company Good Sam's called never showed up. After 6 hours sitting on the side of the road in a bad area of town, he called another tow company and paid for the tow out of his own pocket. I told him to file a BBB complaint to see if he can get reimbursed.

I signed up for the Platinum Plus Service. In reading the PDF it appears to be just like AAA - If towing is needed up to 100 miles. We experienced a blown-out tire and called to have them tow our vehicle to the local (within 3 miles) tire shop. We were told there is a $52 charge for the service. After going through a number of reps, I learned that Good Sam's only covers their service providers. They offered to tow our car to an automobile repair location, of which we are unfamiliar and they do not specialize in tires. This does not make sense and is not an apples-to-apples comparison to AAA. So now with this charge, I paid far more than what I did with AAA with half the service. Don't fall for the marketing hype.

We signed up when we bought a camper and hoped we would never have to use it. Well a few weeks ago we were driving north through Alabama when the low coolant light sprung to life on our dashboard. We quickly found an exit just north of Warrior, Alabama to assess the situation. Turns out our radiator split down the drivers side and was not going to make it any further down the road. We called Good Sam, somehow they needed every piece of information we had already given them (height/length/weight/color/width/etc of the trailer) and they said the closest tow truck would be about an hour to two hours, with no other options we agreed and got ready for a wait. After two hours my wife managed to hitch a ride to a nearby auto parts store, while she was gone I started removing the old radiator. Well, when we finished we called Good Sam back to see if we could cancel the tow as we had already repaired the vehicle, when the operator told my wife that they had never dispatched the tow truck I thought I was going to have to throw her in a lake to cool her off. We will never, ever, even consider going with this company again and I will tell this story anytime someone asks about them or I hear a sales manager try to sell someone on it.

I signed up for the roadside assistance in October of last year. Right now I am sitting in my car with a dead battery and I called for roadside assistance. I was told my policy was red flagged and cancelled. I am severely upset about the situation. I now have to pay out of my own pocket for another company to come give me a jump start which will cost about 100 bucks. I would never use this service as they don't help you when you are stranded. Thanks a lot A holes.
