Forrester fails test during pandemic.
When I was studying for my post-grad MBA a wise lecturer said "if you are getting rid of your employee the biggest odds are that it is your own fault. You are a bad manager." Having worked in this sector in the past, I always thought that Forrester Research was a very good company with a human face. Today I give them ZERO stars for the way they get rid of some UK staff, during the pandemic and Brexit combined. How very insensitive! I have learned that preached corporate culture has nothing to do with reality on the patch of a hypocritical, ruthless manger, playing her/his own game. I have seen this done to friends before, for the right and the wrong reasons, but not during the pandemic. Could the top boss bar his managers, across the whole organisation, from this kind of inhumane treatment of employees for a few months? Until the world becomes more normal again? And it becomes easier to find alternative job? It is sad that the company with this kind of grand reputation allow lesser managers (who lack kindness of the heart) to create a cliff edge of financial death in devoted employees' lives. People with mortgages and kids are pushed out by Forrester on the street because during the reorganisation or takeover their job or face doesn't fit in, and maybe to save a little bit of money. As much as I understand the need for organisational change, it hurts to see people getting hurt for the wrong reason, and most importantly at the strangest of times when they have no chance to easily recover. After all we are all in it together, right? Shame Forrester. Many people are watching from the side-lines. Shame. Shame. Shame. This is why today I give Forrester Research ZERO STARS.
