Glide brings app building to many people for who it previously would not have been possible. I have been able to make high quality, responsive web and mobile apps (not native) for my company without knowing how to code. The team appears to focus on making components that are clean, easy to use, and of a high quality. I love that the product is so visually pleasing both for the app developer and app user, whilst also being very functional. One thing I particularly enjoy is not having to deal with responsiveness as is the case with competing products. All the components are 100% responsive on all devices and you simply have to set up how they work with the data. There is a small customisation trade-off to note as a result. I also love that you can connect multiple data sources to your app. E.g. a table from Google Sheets, a table from Glide Tables, a table from Airtable. Data can also be used across multiple apps. At this stage, Glide is still young and so there are some features to be desired. That being said, the community is super helpful and there is often a workaround for the occasional thing I can’t do natively. The Glide team has their heads down and are rolling out new features every week. Overall, after trying many different no-code app builders, Glide is the one I have landed on because of its mix of quality and ease-of-use, not to mention speed of development. If you are creating a tool for a business (and not trying to build the next Twitter or something totally unique), then Glide is probably for you!

I'm not an app dev, my background is in web development. I chair a conference and we wanted an app mostly for the schedule. Glide's intro session and templates made getting started easy. Our nonprofit conference wanted a simple app for the schedule (and it grew into a lot more). I found super and fast help in the forums (if you're new at this, they're great). The result is a web app and some of our attendees were expecting a "regular" app, so there was a little confusion but the information was there and it did what we needed.

My experience was pretty good. There is a lack of help on the site. Some functions don't work until you upgrade..can't even test them. They don't tell you about that upfront. Otherwise..the API connection to airtable was a breeze. Creating my first app was fairly easy and enjoyable..

Easy to use. Glide it's easy to use, and you can learn how to develop an application fast. However, it has some limitations, for example, the datasources that you can use. I think that if you need a simple application, or maybe a PoC, or a demo, it can be a good option. For more advanced capabilities, maybe you have to consider other options.

Glide handles designing the navigation from screen to screen easy. The editor is fast, isn't bulky, and allows you to create fairly flexible layouts. The design (colors, spacing, fonts, etc.) are fairly limited and CSS is paywalled, but the default options do look nice and are perfectly responsive. The mobile app builder is much more advanced than the webapp builder, but there are continuous improvements that will soon make the webapp builder in closer parity to competitors like Softr. Inter-app connectivity is a bit limited if you need to pass data to a resource other than your sync source (data refresh times), but for simple implementations or smaller scale tools Glide is the one to beat.

I was able to make changes quickly when needed. Added a few fields to a profile screen and connected them to data that is dynamically updated in the base spreadsheet, including links to outside resources.

Glide has very powerful data tools that allow you to build some very impressive workflows. Additionally, the interface and views it allows you to create provide some great looking apps. It's also very easy to use and has a great community. The only downside with Glide is that this no-code platform is meant for internal or semi-internal tools, and may not be the right fit for someone trying to build an MVP that will have hundreds of initial users.
