This is a total scam. I listened 1-2 times and decided it wasn't for me. As far as I could see it wasn't a formal app and in all honesty, wasn't even sure where to find it again. I had not been checking credit card statements carefully until a few months later when I noticed a charge for $57 CAD! Looking back, I could see it was a repeat charge for 6 months! NO renewal notice or any notifications about the charges - a sure sign of a scam. Ethical companies let you KNOW they are about to take more money! Over time they charged me $312.34... sent me a bs "customer service" email, and sidestepped the refund. I am LIVID about this very deceptive advertising. Why not send an email saying your renewal is in 3 days, and actually LET PEOPLE KNOW they are about to be charged. Oh right, you wouldn't be making money without the trickery. Shame on this business! Making a more formal complaint to the BBB.

EDIT: Unfortunately, despite their reply below asking me to contact support, I still have not received any response regarding my refund and the money has not been returned at all. Do not give them your credit card details Very disappointing experience. I originally paid around €20 and used the service once. I did not knowingly intend to continue with another subscription period, yet on 28 August 2026 a further $49.19 USD was authorised against my PayPal account. I only became aware of this after receiving the PayPal notification. I immediately contacted Whisper, cancelled the subscription and requested a full refund. Instead of simply resolving the issue, I was directed to their refund policy and made to complete an additional refund form. I have not used the service at all during this new billing period and I do not want the renewed subscription. In my opinion, recurring charges of this kind should be displayed extremely clearly and prominently before money is taken. Customers should not have to discover an unexpected renewal through a PayPal notification and then fight to get their money back. I would strongly advise anyone considering this service to read the subscription and auto-renewal terms very carefully before entering any payment details.

Not only does this app change behavior when you are trying to cancel the second time (and taking screenshots of the process) which allows you to affect a cancellation, the subscription renews at full price and non refundable if you haven't cancelled, and they try to say they gave you a disclosure ahead of time. But also, the product is poor and not a human voice as far as I can tell. I tried getting a refund 3 weeks ago and never heard back, total listening time is 30 minutes for a 6 month subscription. No notification of pending renewal either. Edit: thanks for reaching out but when I don't enjoy a product, get screwed out of $120 and then again when the subscription renewed, have two different cancellation experiences in the app in the same day, and get stonewalled by customer service over a non refundable re subscription that I wasn't notified prior the recurring charge, and likely wouldn't have happened if cancellation worked other than when you are taking screenshots or doing the entire process a second time, it is my policy to leave the review in place.

i canceled right away because it wasn't what i was expecting. the stories all had the same voice. there were no email confirmations of any sort. i was charged 21 the first month then 39.99 the next 2 times. i never subscribed or agreed to it.

This website is an absolute scam. I paid for a one week trial. Then i noticed the app did not work like it should (also not alot of choices in stories) So i did not extend my trial membership. Suddenly months later without warning they took money from my account? I send them immediately a request for a refund and told them that i did not give my permission to extend my membership. I filed a complaint but they never replied... Be carefull with them! They steal your money and then disappear...

I did sign up for this app but never used it. There really wasn’t a “trial “ period. I was charged $21+, and because I didn’t use it, I forgot to cancel and was charged $39.99. I contacted the customer support and was told that they would not refund per policy, even though I hadn’t used it and had canceled within a few hours of being charged. I even filed a dispute through PayPal and was denied. These people are scammers and don’t care about their customers. **DO NOT USE THIS APP!**
