FunimationReviews of funimation.com

I dont often write reviews- but please someone fix the lag on funimation. I was subscribed to animelab but am now subscribed to funimation after the transfer. But funimation is laggy, even with a subscription and I have good internet connection (so it shouldn't be lagging).

While I don't have any experience with the customer service, I can confirm that the app is hot garbage and even on a pc the website doesn't run much better. Constantly not displaying shows when you search them, episodes regularly won't play, citing an error, but it gives no options to fix it other than refreshing (which literally never works) and while this is happening other episodes will play with no issue. I would love to cancel my subscription, but unfortunately that's not an option because Funimation has monopolized the English dub side of things.

decent shows but absolute garbage UI even on PC. Had resolution problems when attempting to cast to tv while still using animelab but since its all funimation now basically all functionality has become poor and buggy. The UI on Animelab at least was an enjoyable experience whereas transitioning to the funimation system has been nothing but hassle after hassle. A shame because they hold the rights to so many wonderful IPs but still make an overall garbage watching experience

honestly, i thought i would like the account but they dont have a lot of anime that a modern connoseur might like. That was all fine and dandy... UNIL they changed my billing method. Instead of month to month they decided to make it annually which completely messed with my monthly budget. thats sketchy guys, please keep an eye on your billing for such things. Based on this event i have lost all faith and trust in funimation.

Kinda bs that I should have to pay but half way through most shows, they don’t even have dubbed anymore. (I’m talking shows with like 1000 episodes, 600-700 in they just don’t have dubbed. Even from shows from the early 2000’s that they have had almost 2 decades to translate the crap 🤷‍♂️)

The content is good, the quality of the video and audio are also very good. The website itself is a hot dumpster fire and feels like someone with half a diploma in website design put it together. The video overlay almost never works to go to next episode or skip forward, and doesn't go away on it's own in full-screen mode (I had to download a third party extension just so I could push 'Z' to make it go away when viewing content). I constantly get logged out for no reason, it never defaults to 1080p and always plays at the lowest quality EVEN THOUGH I went into my account settings and set the default to the highest quality, and it always changes the default language to English EVEN THOUGH I set the default language to Japanese. To top it all off, I have a paid subscription to use a website that works half as well as a site I could stream anime illegally on. If I didn't have a conscience and want to watch anime in HD, I would jump to a bootleg streaming service in a heartbeat. Funimation, please take notes from Crunchyroll please, and learn how to make a seamless website that lives up to the content that you provide.

Ads every 5 seconds, some animes only have clips and extras instead of the actual videos, sometimes the anime i actually am watching just stops and i have to skip 5-10 minutes, if it lets me watch past that point at all. Not sure if this is just a personal issue, but it has dub, so it works.

had funimation for 9 months before I noticed on my bank statement that funimation was charging me $5.99 extra to my funimation plus every month. I contacted customer support about this and Im getting ignored now and they feel no need to resolve this issue. its criminal
