Very disappointed
Very disappointed — not what we agreed to We recently signed up with Fox Pest Control after their salesman, Joel, came to our home and went over the service plan with my husband. The agreement was to clean the spider webs, spray the foundation for pests, and treat the entire front and back yard with granules, including spraying our pavilion. When the technician arrived, I personally went over the service with him and confirmed what was supposed to be done. He told me he would clean the webs, spray the foundation, treat the entire yard with granules, and spray the pavilion. Unfortunately, that is not what happened. The technician went around the house clearing the webs, sprayed the foundation, and then used a handheld spreader to walk around the house. He only used one filled spreader and then left. The entire yard was not treated as we had agreed, and I am also fairly certain the pavilion was not sprayed. I noticed the difference immediately. When I walked into the garage, I could smell the product that had been sprayed around the foundation—it had a very strong odor. When I walked around the pavilion, I did not smell the same product or anything comparable. My husband contacted Joel about the problem. Joel initially contacted dispatch and arranged for the technician to come back and complete the service. We were then told that dispatch had not given the technician all of the instructions. However, that explanation does not make sense because I personally spoke with the technician before he started. He knew he was supposed to spread granules throughout the yard and even told me to run the sprinklers for 10 minutes afterward. Joel later contacted my husband again and changed his explanation, saying that Fox only spreads granules 20 feet out from the house and that they would not be coming back to complete the yard treatment. If that is the company's policy, it should have been clearly explained before we agreed to the contract, not after the service was only partially completed. What is most disappointing is not simply that the service wasn't completed as we understood the agreement. It's the way the situation was handled afterward. We expected the company to stand behind what its salesman told us and what we discussed with the technician. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we feel we were told one thing when signing up and given something different when the actual service was performed. That's extremely frustrating and has left us with very little confidence in Fox Pest Control.
