Floormat Like Sandpaper
I got a flexible 200x118 cm Floortex office chair mat without studs for Christmas 2025. I've used it since, so for about 7 months. Come spring it started warping in the "heat", i.e 20+°C. Not by much, and not to the point it was a problem, but it was noticeable. Come summer and 25+°C it warped to the point I could feel it bend and move when I move around in my office chair. I had to remove the heavy objects I used to keep it in place, because it would warp even more around those weights. This of course made it slide around on my floor. Since it warped, dirt got under it, and it looks like I've been sitting on a 200x118 cm piece of fine sandpaper; the direct opposite of the purpose I got it for. My floor looks worse than it would have had I not used a mat at all. The mat is just opaque enough that I couldn't tell from looking through it. It's only now that it's warped so much that it gave me a direct view of the floorboards that I could tell. Should I have checked if there was dirt under it? Probably. Should I expect my fancy floor mat to warp to this degree in regular summer heat? Absolutely not. I've looked for information on the website I got it from (reputable office article vendor) and on the box it came in, and there are no warnings; only to leave it out for a bit before using it. Images of the product are almost exclusively on wooden floors. 1 star. I'd give it 0 if I could.
