I’m dealing with the same issue! I Purchased the machine along with $2000 service - and now they are charging an outrageous monthly fee for the machine to work! Small businesses are already suffering in this economy and now their fee is more expensive than the software to run my entire business!!!!! I understand they may need to collect some revenue, but for older customers - we should have been grandfathered into this! They sold us a $10,000 product with an additional service fee- and now the product can no longer be used.. we do use the machine, but there is no way I can recoup this amount of revenue to make up for the monthly fees!!! How did they come up with this outrageous amount!! Why can’t they set a “per scan” price! Something we can afford!!!

I purchased this machine 4 years ago and was told at the time of purchase that it was a one- time investment and that I’d enjoy unlimited scans with NO subscription plan. Fast forward and they have turned off my machine and trying to charge a $100-$250 subscription fee to continue to use the service that they promised would be included in my initial purchase. True Bait & Switch and I WOULD NOT do business with this company again.

Our fitness club bought the Fit 3D outright in 2019 with no subscription (unlimited scans) per our contract and now 2023 they want to start charging a subscription. I made it clear back in 2019 (through emails) that our decision was solely based on the fact that it was unlimited scans. Not only didn’t the contract state unlimited scans but also the sales person “Mone Sims” mentioned this through email. The move they made is extremely unethical. Our attorney sent a letter regarding the situation and Patrick’s (GM) response was “While this includes software updates for ProScanner and for the Web Platform (IE. your access to data at fit 3D dashboard.), it does not include unlimited updates to the Scan Processing Engine (SPE). The SPE is a mixture of hardware and proprietary software used to process depth images to a 3D object, remove the environment from the 3D body object, and process measurements on the 3D body object. In our agreements, we did not commit to providing SPE updates for free and did not commit to maintaining outdated portions of our SPE forever.” Why didn’t you tell consumers this in the beginning? This is exactly what you call a bait and switch. Just trying to make a sale? We will be pursuing legal action.

When I purchased this very expensive $8000 scanner, I purchased it with the knowledge that it was a one-time cost, with no on-going fees. I purchased a lifetime software and service license. Then, this past March, Fit3D tried to force us to purchase a service plan in order to continue using their scanner, which went against what I was originally promised. They quickly backtracked after the backlash from their customers and said that we would still be able to use the scanner without a service plan, it just would process slower. Fast forward to this fall, when we were told that we had to purchase a monthly service fee subscription, and as of Dec 18th our scanner would no longer work if we didn't purchase one of these subscriptions, ranging from $100-$250 a month. So they have gone against their word of this being a one-time fee with no on-going costs - my lifetime software and service plan means nothing, and now I own a large $8000 paperweight. I urge you not to purchase this scanner, who knows how many more times this company will up their fees on their customers after promising there would be no fees! I weighed my options of should I just pay the fee since I already own the unit - however it doesn't seem worthwhile to me. Their customer support is slow at best, which is evident from the many other bad reviews. You can't get replacement parts - for example, if one of the cameras breaks, you can't just replace that camera - you have to replace the whole camera tower which costs nearly half of the original purchase price of the unit. Do your research and read the reviews before spending your money with Fit3D. They have A LOT of work to do to regain the trust of their customers.

Don’t buy this machine ! We spent 10k on this machine and now they have completely out of the blue added a minimum 100 dollar a month service fee - which was never the deal. What’s to stop them increasing this !!! The uk side of the business is no longer in existence -

Bought a machine for $8,000 under the premise it was a one-time cost with no ongoing fees. They bait and switched to charging a monthly fee which I refuse to pay for their “service” and so now I have 8,000 dollars worth of useless machine I literally need to throw away. 🤷🏻‍♂️ $8,000 down the drain… it may not be much to some, but it was a huge expense (and gamble) for my business that has proven to be an abject failure. Live and learn I guess.

DO NOT BUY! You will pay $10k to $13k for the machine and the rights to use it. Then they will charge you 3 years later a $100- $300 monthly subscription or threaten to turn off your machine.

Purchased this scanner in 2020, one of the factors we considered when comparing with others is that they promised that we would never have to pay for a service plan. After they changed this module and introduced a 3 tier subscription plan, they promised us that this would be for new clients only. Fast forward a few months and now were being told that we have to also pay for a subscription starting at 1200/year or else we have a 10,000 piece of useless equipment sitting in our facility. Incredibly deceitful and horrible business practice. I would stay away and opt for a more honest and better value product else where. Buyer beware!
