Unkept Refund Commitments, unreasonable pricing and billing model, and Public Rating Discrepancies
Upfront billing before onboarding When I signed up, I was billed $997 for a Pro plan subscription before I had seen a demo or received any onboarding. In my opinion, requiring a $1,000 commitment with no self-guided trial is unusual for software like this, since many competitors offer 14 to 30-day trials. Some even offer permanent free tiers so you can get used to the software and the company before graduating into more advanced product features. Refund discussion On a call on August 12, 2026, I understood the company representative to have agreed to a full $997 refund after we discussed the upfront billing. The refund was never processed. Follow-up Over the following month, I emailed the sales representative, my assigned Customer Success Manager, and general support multiple times. I did not receive a resolution. So I filed a dispute with my credit card issuer. After reviewing my documentation and email history, my card issuer refunded the $997 charge to my account and stated the refund was permanent based on the evidence I provided. Marketing claims versus public records As of 10/24/2026, the Fintology homepage displays a graphic showing a 4.8 out of 5 Trustpilot rating, while the company’s Trustpilot profile shows an aggregate rating of 2.8 out of 5. Prospective buyers may want to compare the two for themselves. The website also cites a 4.5 Google rating. However, a google search for fintology and their stated address does not show any google reviews. The site also advertises access to “4,500 lending products.” I could not find a public list or documentation supporting that figure, and I am not claiming it is inaccurate. However, I would be curious to know where they got that figure and why no competitor has more than 10 lending products. Again enumeration of their products as well as enumeration of their strongest competitors products would put an end to this confusion. This review reflects my own experience and the information available to me as of 10/24/2026.
