Formula 1Reviews of f1tv.formula1.com

Bought a subscription yesterday hoping to be able to watch the F1 season opening race. Unfortunately, lots of technical issues caused me to miss most of the race start. Seems like they did not have enough capacity to handle the load on their website which is a big shame for a paid service like this. Once I was able to load the stream, the stream itself was fine tho.

The stream didn't run during FP2 and i didn't get access to the other feeds during the race. The sad thing is that this is the cheapest way to watch the races. Fix the app, you had 7 MONTHS!

Although my emotional response is to give it a 1 star or less if i could, the stream did eventually start. It's not acceptable to me for the stream to cause such frustration on the very first race. I was also unable to switch to onboard cameras.

Crapped out during the race. Extremely disappointed. Reading what others say about the service it seems this is more of a regular occurrence than one would expect.

Good when it works, which is extremely rare

I don't know what chickenshed they keep their derelict servers in, but this needs to improve. It's a gamble everytime on whether it actually works. I've never had the same issues with other motorsport streaming sites I've used, like WRC, MotoGP and SBK.

Missing Streams, bad FPS very confusing and user unfriendly website. All in all it works most of the time but if you can watch F1 somewhere else i recommend doing that isntead.

While I love the functionality of the app, the ability to turn off commentators and only heat "sound fx" (motors) and the team radios I heavily dislike having to jump through hoops to stream it to a desired device (Chromecast). Honestly I'd rather watch the free option with ads running every 15min, which is honestly just as annoying paired with worse commentators than the great ones offered with the app (Tom Kristensen is one commentator, but rarely gets any time to speak unless its sports/engine related and doesn't sound 'in to it') With no option to stream/cast it where you/I want, I had to rely on an app called Web Video Cast; login to their website within the app, find the stream, wait for it to connect and have to deal with sound coming off from both my phone and the TV... That is, when it finally did connect or didn't end abruptly. In my case it's a waste of money. The quality is great, there's some awesome features (being able to pick which driver you want to focus on) but the delay is horrible since they rely on putting out the content to networks more. I've watched the 'free' option in my country along side the app on a few occasions, only to see a 30-60 second delay in action. If they add the ability to cast/stream it however you want it would instantly get 5 stars. Paying this much, and having to rely on a minimal screen and "horrible" sound is annoying to say the least.
