They have become editing nazis and do not let you write what you feel and have taken full control over what gets published. Very disappointing and should be avoided if you want independence with your writing! follow up. Their reply is nnot accurate. They gave me this sterile answer on repeated requests for and answer to my questions, which were never answered . This is a very relevant review.

Hi Michael. As we discussed over multiple emails in July and August, right after your most recent article was published on our site, Elephant Journal is an independent publication with its own editorial guidelines, style guide, and team of editors. Each article submitted to our platform is read, reviewed, and considered for publication by an actual person on our editorial team. As an independent publication, we reserve the right to choose what we publish and to publish what is in alignment with our mission. We do not serve as a bulletin board for any and all writing that is submitted. Furthermore, any writing that is submitted and published goes through the editing process. We are more than happy to work with authors on small adjustments, an option that was offered to you multiple times, but by submitting writing to Elephant, you are agreeing to our guidelines, which are clearly found on our website and submission form. As I mentioned in our email conversation, your article connected with readers and we're happy to work with you in the future if you choose, but it has been and will continue to be our policy to edit the articles we choose for publication. If that is something you aren't comfortable with, we understand. ~ Nicole, Elephant Journal Managing Editor
