The loving care right from the start shown to my autistic son. They stepped up and were able to get him to do things while handling a difficult emergency situation. They remained calm and helped him relax and soon he was fast asleep. They were also very aware of domestic violence and were very careful to not allow anything bad to happen. My son was well care for and was quickly able to get back.home! I am forever grateful for the staff that assisted and helped us! Thank you so much!

Don't Bother With Duke University ER
I have Mold Illness and too many Spiked Proteins from COViD Sars vaccine. Mold Illness strips the stomach lining so meds act differently in me. I was seeing a Functional Doctor (former ER doctors) who treated the Spiked Proteins with Ivermectin which destroys rNA. It's considered a miracle drug.. Both cause inflammation so important to get out of my body. I am genetically prone to side effects. Tried it twice. Had side effects twice, last time severe. I had no idea it could cause serious ones. I wasn't told. I ended up with ataxia, itching, stiff muscles, tremors, blurry vision, tingles, etc. I have fatty liver so meds not removed like other normal people remove without this.
I went to Duke University ER which is a very long drive after local hospital misdiagnosed and didn't treat. It's NOT neuropathy. Neither he nor Duke doctors were familiar with side effects nor could they be bothered to spend one minute looking up. Nope they don't listen either because Neurologist I was seeing said not Neuropathy. She reverses it.
It took 1.5hrs each way for drive. I waited 9hrs in E.R. in horrible pain. They talked to Pharmacist who said med out of body never taking into consideration genetics towards side effects nor fatty liver, both of which I told them. I had ataxia, tingling, itching, severe muscle stiffness, blurry vision, etc. Nothing to do with Neuropathy which Ivermectin can reverse. I was treated for "muscle spasms" which isn't why I was there, it's total misdiagnosis b.s. by ignorant inexperienced doctor too lazy to read side effects online. Without doing so and talking to Pharmacist who said removed in 12 days from body she negated every single side effect I DO have. She gave me a muscle relaxer.
I have a medical degree from Wake Forest. My father was a Pharmacist before becoming attorney. You need to take into consideration genetics and fatty liver before assuming it's out of body. Any first year doctor knows this. But she refused to listen. I got NO treatment to flush it out not even I.V. I need ILE. I went home still barely able to walk after straight up medical malpractice because they're understaffed and inexperienced for something not everyday. This is one of the best hospitals in state and yet grossly incompetent, obviously only about money and numbers for greed. They don't give a damn about the patient.
I'm currently filing complaint with insurance, with medical board, and looking for medical malpractice attorney. I'm disgusted plus suffering horribly. I needed this med out of body to stop side effects but still have them thanks to Duke University ER. If you don't have everyday problem like me steer clear and forget the hype of them being better than other places.

Awful
Awful. Needed hip surgery. Sent to primary care dr. at Riverview. He did nothing. Just hemmed and hawed. He did not seem to KNOW what to do. Nurses were also askance--gave poor information, or misunderstood. Lab tech student practiced on me to get blood. Missed the vein. Duke Patient Relations decried every complaint I had, left me hanging. Primary care prison. Still no help for my hip pain.

I wient in for an appendectomy in…
I wient in for an appendectomy in September of 2019 at Duke(i cant select the correct date in this form). When I awoke in recovery I found my two front teeth outside my mouth. They were broken at the root. I assume this occurred during sedation when I was intubated. Duke never took responsibility for this gross error nor did they reimburse me for all my costs to repair these teeth or the the pain and suffering. NC law and all the Duke cya paperwork makes it difficult to find an attorney who would take this case to recover my costs. I ended up paying around $10k to get these fixed. I will never use Duke for any surgery. Ever.

Dr David Michael Ashley
Dr. David Michael Ashley of the Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke provided care for my wife after she had surgery to remove a brain tumor. Over the 18 months he treated her, he made multiple mistakes that contributed to her death and cost us almost $100,000 out of pocket. When her cancer returned, he provided no treatment options and displayed no compassion whatsover. Dr. Ashley was negligent and clearly did not undertand the treatment he recommended. The staff of the Center were excellent, but Dr. David Ashley should not be allowed to provide patient care.
