When Gamers Make Games
DreadXP is a great example of gamers that become devs to give back to the gaming community. You can see the amount of artistic care they pump into many of their titles. My Friendly Neighborhood, is a shockingly deep game, which is unexpected from what you'd anticipate from it's surface level appearance. It has so much subcontext for our innate defensiveness, fears, self-image, hostility towards others, and misguided intentions, despite being a Resident Evil/Muppet hybrid. There's little to no sacrifice to the artistic representation of games for surplus profit, which is more than can be said about many AAA companies out there. Their list of current titles already house some gems, like The Mortuary Assistant. I look forward to their future titles.
