Fraud and Unprofessional
I hired David Pinnell for professional consulting services related to the development and approval process for BrayMills Career Institute and paid an initial $1,800 fee. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect the level of expertise, responsiveness, or quality I expected when I hired a professional consultant. Communication and follow-up were consistently delayed. The drafts I received required an extensive amount of my own time to review and correct. In several places, numbering and bullet structures were inaccurate or inconsistent in ways that appeared to result from copying and pasting content without adequately reviewing the finished document. After I spent hours providing detailed edits and answering questions within the documents, I was subsequently asked questions about information I had already addressed in those revisions. Eventually, I requested a refund because of the delays, quality concerns, lack of follow-through, and my dissatisfaction with the services provided. I was told that my $1,800 payment was nonrefundable under our agreement. I reviewed and electronically searched the agreement available to me and could not locate language expressly stating that the $1,800 payment was nonrefundable. I then asked for the specific page, section, and paragraph containing that provision. What was particularly disappointing was that after I requested the refund, I still did not receive the completed materials or meaningful evidence of the progress I had been waiting for. I hired a consultant because I expected professional expertise to reduce the burden of navigating this process—not create substantially more work for me. Based solely on my personal experience with the communication, work product, follow-through, and handling of my refund request, I cannot recommend these consulting services. I have retained my agreement, payment records, correspondence, drafts, and revisions documenting my experience.
