Paid by bank transfer, then given a tracking number for someone else's parcel and no goods shipped
I'm in New Zealand. In September I tried to order from dotmod.com, but the checkout declined three different Visa cards that work everywhere else. Their customer service offered direct bank transfer instead, so I paid that way on 10 September. After that it took several days and a lot of emails before they confirmed my order. On 16 September they told me it had shipped and gave me a UPS tracking number. That tracking number was for a parcel going to Australia, and UPS later showed it delivered there, not to me. I sent five messages over the next few days asking what had happened. I got no reply until 21 September, when they told me my order had not actually shipped yet and would go out "today". As of 22 September I have no valid tracking number, no order and no refund. My advice: don't agree to pay by bank transfer. If something goes wrong, you don't have the protection you'd get paying by card. I'll update this review if dotmod sorts it out.
