DME Upgrades Do Not Prorate Unused Previous Service
DME is a good platform and we have been satisfied since moving to their service in 2023. On June 1, 2026 I upgraded our account from DNS-5 to DNS-25; we were getting close to the maximum queries per month. I renewed the service on March 13 (renewal date was April 27). We had used the renewed service for 35 days before the upgrade. DME does not give us any credit for the 330 days that was left in the year. They did prorate the DNS-25 for the 35 days used in our renewal cycle. We paid $225 for DNS-5 and $405.62 for DNS-25. There is no warning that upgrading your DNS service results in losing the unused part of your current subscription. This seems like a greedy money grab to us. I hope DME clients read reviews and that my review will be the warning they will not get from DME.
