horrible customer service.
A lady called and just started talking like it was from some scam call center, he asked for a person. Told person was on vacation and then he just hung up the phone. You make money from us, you should treat customers nice.

Do Not Recommend DigiCert.
Attempted to get my service renewed multiple times through support and the sales team. It would not let me, giving me an error that I must renew to renew it, which does not make sense. Got ahold of a tech support member, said he'd get it resolved within an hour, then never heard from him again. Reached back out, got transferred to sales then back to the tech team just for it to hang up. Reached out daily and just got passed around. Finally went with Sectigo, which was a lot easier.

Important information that differs in the VMC process
Regarding the WIPO registration, we've contacted Digicert before and the information we have from you is that these third parties are available for verification. As you can see from the transcript below.
Me (5/24/2024, 3:34:14 PM): can you tell us what third party sources you use to verify the company so we can check if everything is in order? If i'm not mistaken for Portuguese companies that would be informadb.pt
Emiliana (5/24/2024, 3:35:16 PM): That depends on where the company is registered:/
Me (5/24/2024, 3:36:10 PM): in this case it would be a Portugal
Me (5/24/2024, 3:36:15 PM): in SIBSs case
Me (5/24/2024, 3:36:37 PM): but is that third party source publicly available or is it something you don't share?
Emiliana (5/24/2024, 3:38:28 PM): We do, I will send you a few
Me (5/24/2024, 3:38:40 PM): please if you can
Me (5/24/2024, 3:39:05 PM): we're gathering all this info and then we'll probably do the entire process with SIBs to learn from it and adapt it to our SaaS platform
Me (5/24/2024, 3:39:10 PM): and eventually become a reseller
Emiliana (5/24/2024, 3:50:07 PM):
- Autoridade de Supervisão de Seguros e Fundos de Pensão (ASF)*** (Inc)
- Instituto dos Registros e Notariado de Portugal (Ministério da Justiça) *** (Inc)
- Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (CMVM) *** (Inc)
- Marcas e patentes do Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (INPI) (QGIS)
- Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior (DGES - Pesquisa Universitária) (QGIS)
- Portal da Empresa (QGIS) Diário da Républica Electrónico (DRE) (QGIS)
- Banco de Portugal (QGIS) Associação Nacional de Municípios Portugueses (A.N.M.P) (QGIS)
- Portal do Governo de Portugal (QGIS)
I would like to share my disappointment with this process and now we are in an uncomfortable position with the client. We told them that it would be possible to use INPI and now they have to add/register the red logo in the WIPO.
Another day tried the contact again:
BOT: Hello and thank you for using DigiCert AI-powered support chat (currently in beta).
BOT: By using this live chat feature, I agree to allow DigiCert to store and process my communications provided herein, including any information I share, in accordance with DigiCert’s Privacy Notice
BOT: Do you agree?
USER: Selected: Yes
BOT: How can I assist you today?
BOT: Please provide as much relevant information as possible. The more details you share, the better I can assist you.
USER: Is INPI a valid entity for VMC?
BOT: Thank you for your question. Verified Mark Certificates (VMCs) can be issued to holders of registered trademarks or government marks. If INPI (Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial) is the entity that has granted a registered trademark or a government mark, then it would be considered a valid entity for obtaining a VMC.
For a registered trademark, you would need to provide the trademark registration number and the name of the Trademark Office that granted the registration. For government marks, the enabling legislation or government record that grants the logo to the entity would be required.
If you have any further questions or need assistance with the process, feel free to ask!
USER: Is INPI a valid entity?
BOT: The Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (INPI) is indeed a recognized entity for trademark validation in the Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) process. According to the VMC Guidelines, INPI is one of the seventeen intellectual property offices officially recognized for trademark registration. Therefore, if your logo is registered as a trademark with INPI, it qualifies for validation in the VMC process.
USER: Is there another entity to validate in Portugal?
BOT: In Portugal, the Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial (INPI) is the recognized entity for trademark validation in the Verified Mark Certificate (VMC) process. Currently, there are no other entities in Portugal listed as approved for this purpose. If your logo is registered as a trademark with INPI, it qualifies for validation in the VMC process.
If you have any further questions or need assistance with the VMC process, feel free to ask!

The worst part of my job is them
The worst part of my job is dealing with DigiCert. I am a software engineer and about 80% of the time, when I contact their customer support, they do not listen to my problem and act as if they are reading the documentation for the first time as well.
3+ times I have had agents fully hang up on me.
It is like pulling teeth trying to get them to help me.
They have messed up in every way possible. It feels like the company is playing a prank on just me

Despite providing our 7 digit account…
Despite providing our 7 digit account ID, as displayed to me when logged in via 2FA, the Live Chat Support Agent could not find us...so no support for us!
The AI Agent at least gave some responses to possible avenues of investigation, but that also failed to provide a solution...the hunt to find a reference to their own error message in their own audit log continues...

Dreadful
Dreadful, absolutely the most incompetent company out there and if you want a certificate, don't go to this shower of jokers. We have been trying to renew a certificate for 3 weeks and they just seem incapable of getting anything right, from the pricing on quotes to the billing address to crediting the units to the portal so we can renew. Breathtakingly amateur and really don't go near these clowns, hopeless.
