I purchased a refurbished Dell Latitude…
I purchased a refurbished Dell Latitude 7520 along with an extended warranty, expecting reliable long-term support. Just 16 months into ownership-putting me exactly 4 months past the extended warranty expiration-the battery completely failed. The system diagnostic shows the 65W AC charge is perfectly fine, but the battery health deteriorated prematurely to "Fair" & went into an "Idle" safety lock, refusing to hold a charge. When I called Dell support, they flatly refused to help or offer any goodwill assistance simply because of the calendar date. For a premium business laptop to lose its battery function this quickly with ZERO support flexibility is incredibly frustrating. I had to buy a third-party replacement on Amazon just to make my laptop portable again. Buyer beware: their extended warranty window is a hard stop, even for premature component failures. I purchased this on 4/30/25, paid $26.99 for expedited service ( was approx. 4weeks later than expeted), total cost of $1,070.05 which includes extended warranty of $49. I will not be "tooting" Dell's horn like I have my entire career.
