If I could give this a negative rating, I would. I own a 2023 1025r TLB. Use it on a 2 acre residential property. After just a few months, the problems began. To-date I have 350 hours. Here are just a few of the issues:
• Reverse sensor/switch/wiring failure, repaired 6 times
• Front axle seal leak
• Steering cylinder failure
• Replace head gasket
• Replace alternator
• Replace mower deck adjustment cam
You get the idea. Once upon a time John Deere was synonymous with Quality. Definitely not the case today. Once that reputation is eroded, you will never get it back.
I would strongly recommend you stay away from John Deere.

Parts people are the Best.
It was really difficult finding the part I needed for my 1025R John Deere Tractor. The hydrostatic braking system for my tractor was malfunctioning as it was not returning once pushed down to move forward. Called around to a couple local John Deere businesses and was informed that the part was on backorder or had been on backorder for quite some time. When calling the Ocala John Deere, which is over an hour away from my residence, they did have my part and they did have it in stock. The part number had changed over the years so I had to make sure that it was the correct part. In communicating with Amy at the John Deere store in Ocala, Florida, she did say that they had it in stock. I asked if they delivered and she put me on hold and when she returned, she stated she would be willing to meet me in Morriston, Florida, at a local business and deliver the part to me. I’m 70 years old and I am just not a driver. She did meet me there saving me time and money. I was so busy telling her about my cousin who is an actor that I forgot to ask if she wanted any compensation for the delivery. So Amy, you have my telephone number, so don’t hesitate to call.

Not what they used to be.
Not what they used to be.
Poor quality in many areas, failures where there should not be any.
Long wait time on parts, as in a month plus. Even for simple things
Poor customer service in answering questions, giving time frames, or keeping you informed.

John Deere Z-Trak Mower Fire – Safety Hazard
My John Deere mower was less than two years old, had fewer than 70 hours of use, and was stored in my garage when it spontaneously caught fire after not being operated for 28 hours. John Deere has marketed this product with a “3-year/unlimited-hour bumper-to-bumper warranty”, prominently advertised on major retail partner websites (including Home Depot).
A bumper-to-bumper warranty reasonably includes coverage for catastrophic failures such as spontaneous combustion, unless explicitly excluded. To date, Deere has not identified any such exclusion in its warranty and has DENIED all requests for necessary replacement.

Product and customer support are key…
Product and customer support are key for me, and John Deere delivered both. Highly recommend the American made products (some are not) and Stotz Equipment in Chandler Arizona!

QUALITY LOSES BIG TIME TO MARKETING GREED AT JOHN DEERE
My 2012 JD 1023E with ~800 hrs has been garaged >98% of the time.
At ~70 hrs white metal top link broke; cost to replace ~$150, ~$35 at Tractor Supply, with no problems over past 10 years. ~20 hrs later white metal clip holder for top link broke as well. Didn't bother checking replacement price
At ~250 hours gear box for mid mount mower blew. Replacement cost ~$350
At 375 hrs rear drag arm (which lifts mid mount mower) broke. Original part, inadequate in design, would have cost ~$40, but the JD engineering interns, realizing their error (one of many) developed a "new, improved" replacement costing > $450. Front drag linkage also started separating from mower deck, needing re-welding
At 440 hours ignition switch needed replacement (I also have a >80 yo Ford 9N with OEM ignition)! The 1023E has been sheltered as above. Ford 9N not so much
At 800 hrs,, front axle sprung a "leak", allegedly due to bad wheel bearing and seal. I was told the wheel bearing failed due to heavy loads in front end loader. The FEL maxes out at ~ 500# load; it's impossible to believe there is not a wheel bearing somewhere out there that can't handle a 500# load! (JD claims this is a tractor, I think it is a cost-cutting prototype. The Ford 9n still has OEM wheel bearings)
Also at 800 hours the replacement gear box for the midmount mower developed a leaking seal requiring replacement, and the mower "auto connect" quick mount (oxymoron) carrier and bearing needed replacement
The word on the street and internet is that JD started outsourcing parts to off-shore (read "chinese") suppliers around1999-2000
If you need a tractor, get an orange one.
The JD marketing lizards and engineering interns have ruined this brand
