Our Debtstoppers experience was satisfactory, but the communication between us and our attorney had room for improvement. My husband and I had to call and email frequently before we would get a response from our assigned attorney. The back and forth became frustrating but besides that, we believe that our case was handled professionally.

When I called Debtstoppers initially I was given an appointment,but wasn't informed what documents were necessary for me to bring in. There were several times I came into different offices and because there was lack of communication I had to reschedule my apponutment which was very frustrating.

Debtstoppers did a great job initially. They got me in the program and immediately stopped the creditors from calling me. However, there was very little support over my 5 year period. It seemed that my lawyers kept changing and so did the paralegals. I never knew who to call when I needed help or direction and those that I called always seemed new and not informed. I got through it and I would recommend them to others, but don't look for any hand holding.

Am happy that all is done and said and I am through with bad debt in my life. Their fee is reasonable and they did work with monthly payments but had to go through a few courses to make this happen in which fees are expected (twice). My representative was very vague, never received my credit report and he should have suggested that my husband been a part of the bankruptcy, he had several outstanding debts that I am now paying out of pocket for. All and all I was happy with how quickly it was handled, and that I'm free and clear and ready for new starts to keep a good credit line.

I have not received my release letter as of today....I have made several to include coming into office and speaking to your attorneys and I have also called and left messages well email them...no response if you assist me with my discharge letter it would be greatly appreciated. Went to Schaumburg office, had a 2pm appointment for my first consultation but didn't see anyone for 30-40 minutes. Once I got in to see and speak with the paralegal everything fell into place. After speaking with the paralegal I was then taken into an office to speak with the attorney. We discussed my options and chose the best option for my situation. We did set up a second appointment to bring in certain items needed to file for the bankruptcy. On my second visit my appointment was for 2 o'clock again and I was left waiting for about an hour before I could see the attorney when it was over with it was 5 p.m. in the evening. The only thing that I could say is that they need to be more prompt with their service and their appointment times. Other than that they are a great Firm to file your bankruptcy case.

No major complaints, they need to work on better communication and transmission of documents. Also their customer service in billing department needs improvement the reps are disrespectful.

I gave 3 stars since my case was filed, bankruptcy completed and discharged, but I will NOT refer anyone to them. In the consultation and until the actual filing occurred, they stayed in communication with me. Returning phone calls, emails just following up but once the case was filed and payments started there would be days sometimes weeks without getting a return email or call from the attorney or assigned paralegal. My attorney changed at least 4 times and the only way I was informed was because I called the main number and someone would looked up my case to direct me to the proper people. Or I got ugly in an email and was told to contact someone else. They really need to work on maintaining a higher level of customer service/communication. By the end, I was over them and began contacting the trustee directly with my questions. It's now 3 months after my discharge and I'm still waiting on them to send me my car title. I never hope to be in this situation again, but I wouldn't dare refer anyone to them.
