I was able to successfully discharge my case. I was not aware that the plan did not include my student loan and this debt has increased by thousands of dollars during the five year period. The substantial amount that was paid did not decrease the loan amount and seemingly was disregarded. If I had known this I would have continued to pay the student loan during the bankruptcy plan.

My experience was great only 1 little issue when I went to court my representative neglect to tell me that I needed to complete another online course. Then I got an urgent email saying my case deadline is now. When I checked my records I had completed the course and she somehow missed it.

Our experience with the Attorneys and staff at Debstoppers was good. From the very beginning, at the in-take meeting, and throughout the course of our bankruptcy, the staff answered all of questions and communicated every step of the process. Communication was always detailed in what we can expect with the court proceedings and any other part of the process. Calls and email responses were returned in a reasonable timeframe. This process requires patience and understanding, plus the ability to be fully cooperative and compliant. With that said, our process from beginning to end ran smoothly. Cons: (Reason for four stars) Early in the process there were times that it was difficult to reach someone (phones would route to the Chicago office, etc.). Within the past year this situation appears to be corrected. We have not had any difficulty being routed to the correct office. Overall, our experiences with Debtstoppers were good and we would recommend this firm to anyone with a simple or complex case.

I was skeptical about using Debt Stoppers for my bankruptcy because there were very terrible reviews online about them. However my mother recommended them as she filed Chapter 13 and had no issues. Still, the reviews caused me great concern. I however still gave them a shot, had a consultation, and decided to move forward. I however had educated myself on bankruptcy before speaking with them and had everything in order along with being very direct in my questions. Everything went smooth and though I paid a little more than I preferred for Chapter 7 ($1650) I have no complaints whatsoever!! They did their job and most importantly I did mine. So I'm thinking of you have any problems with this company or their processes it's probably because you didn't do what you were supposed to, didn't educate yourself and ask all the right questions so they can't take advantage, and/or maybe worked with the wrong individual. Nonetheless my experience was nothing like the bad reviews. My bankruptcy has now been discharged and I'm ready for my fresh start!!

Ask about implications of who you choose to enter in your bankruptcy. Example I could have made arrangements with the electric company instead I included them as per the advise of the para and had to turn around and pay 600.00 in deposit fees for another account. If my para was more knowledgeable maybe he could have advised not to include them.
