Had a wonderful experience with datarecovery.com. They fully recovered a (pretty severely) damaged external hard drive that wouldn't even mount to my computer by the time I sent it to them. I called them in the midst of panicking about the drive and Kerri was very reassuring and helpful. They even gave me a discount for being a WD customer. They are maybe not the cheapest or fastest option, but I didn't care about that; the files on my drive were very important and I cared about the highest likelihood of my files being saved. If that's the boat you're in, take my advice, and trust your data with these technicians! Unexpected (and unwelcome) simultaneous failure of WD 4TB primary AND backup drives. Panic. Professionals at Data Recovery were able to recover ALL of my data from the backup drive (my choice.) They specialize (and offer a discount) for working with WD drives (still my first choice.) I hope I never need their services again BUT if I do, they will be the first people I call.
