Worst experience ever. I paid for the course but still cannot access it. I contacted the support team multiple times, but the email address doesn’t work properly. my emails keep going to spam, and I’m unable to get any verification or real help. The replies I receive look like automated or scam messages with no proper resolution. This feels completely unprofessional and misleading. I would not recommend this course to anyone.

Charged my credit with a 100% refundable deposit (I have it in writing), while I evaluated their program. Now they are non responsive, seems the sales person I was working with, Nathan Spears left the company and their Support (at) dataengineeracademy.com which is posted all over their website is non responsive as well. I have sent several emails and no response. Next step is a demand letter, and a letter to my credit card for a chargeback. I will get me money eventually but such as waste of time jumping through hoops while this could have been resolved easily.

They charged my credit card even though the loan they had promised did not get approved. The service was not rendered. I asked for refunds, but they ignored me. It is a bad business practice to charge the vulnerable without rendering the service.

Unfortunately, my experience has been quite disappointing. The team is not flexible with scheduling—meeting times are often unavailable, even when the matter is urgent like interview. Additionally, they are generally unresponsive to requests or unwilling to accommodate specific needs. It feels like the focus is more on collecting payment than providing what they promised.

I enrolled two years ago. While the course content is fine, the support is severely lacking. If you manage to get a job on your own, they stop responding completely — no follow-up, no guidance. One-on-one sessions weren’t useful, and for the price they charge, the overall value just isn’t there. Felt like I paid for nothing. Worst of all, my interview videos were used in their course material without proper consent, and even after multiple requests to remove them, they’re still being used. Totally unprofessional and disrespectful.

Disappointing experience. Instead of spending so much amount here, a few DE Courses would have been far better. The only advantage is that there are a few coaches with whom one-on-one sessions could be conducted to get clarity on your doubts. Except that, every service offered is misleading and absolutely below average. The additional services include: Job Application and their follow-ups, their referral process, and courses offered are above a certain plan only which is not mentioned in the contract but is mentioned in the initial calls, slack responses are super slow, and group sessions are average. In summary, they over-promise and under-deliver. A coursework instead would have been far better than spending a huge amount on DEAcademy.

I enrolled in Data Engineer Academy because they advertised hands-on mentorship, real-world projects, and around-the-clock instructor support. After paying the full tuition, none of that materialized. Instructors were unresponsive, scheduled “office hours” never happened, and promised project feedback was completely absent. I was left scrambling for my own resources and guidance. This feels less like an academy and more like a money grab. If Data Engineer Academy wants to improve, they need to deliver on their core promises: assign dedicated mentors, actually hold live help sessions, and provide timely, constructive feedback on students’ work. Until they do, I can’t recommend them to anyone serious about a career in data engineering.

I am not buying these services! As another user mentioned, I got a first call where they asked me a lot of questions, only to schedule another call with the salesperson. Then I got on the sales call with another fellow, who started with the usual: "If this is not the program for you, we will part ways." Why are all coaches and mentors using this strategy lately? It's plain wrong. Anyhow, a LOT of more questions came my way, only to say that I did qualify for their Personalized Training. Since I am a seasoned corp-exec with 20+ years of experience, he told me that I could become a member of their Diamond Program, for an unreasonably high amount of money. Although I should have ended the call at that point, I kept on listening to try to understand what could cost that much money. That's when he started talking about the gap method and showed me how it's implemented and more. In other words, exactly the same process that an entry-level aspiring data scientist would get! He also mentioned that I would have the full engagement of the founder in my case and a guaranteed job offer. When I asked if I could talk to other C-suite clients enrolled in the Diamond Program, the answer was, "Sorry, but we don't usually do that." This triggered all the alarms. A company selling training packages that is not willing to let their premium customers talk to each other, and share experiences, clearly is not worth the time or the money. Especially not that amount of money!!
