My experience with Data Engineering Academy has been incredibly positive. After a long and varied career in software engineering and real estate sales, I went back to school and earned my BS degree in Applied Management. What followed was a very difficult season of life. I was looking for a clear path back into a high-paying business or technical role. After applying unsuccessfully for 100+ jobs requiring hundreds of hours and a variety of skill sets, I became discouraged. Then along came the DE Academy, which has given me exactly the direction/plan that I need. Their personalized, holistic approach goes far beyond training. Together, we designed a personalized TPM plan that will help bridge skill gaps, build a relevant resume of real-world projects, strengthen my resume for specific positions, and prepare me for interviews with practical feedback and support. Chris Garzon, Ryan Oprea, Peter Jensen, and the entire team have been professional, knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in my success. In a world full of hype and empty promises, DE Academy stands out for having a real plan that works. I’m proud to be working with them and highly recommend them. Before joining DE Academy, my goal was to build a strong foundation in data engineering and gain practical, job-ready skills in SQL, Python, cloud platforms, and real-world data workflows. Coming from a mostly self-taught background, one of my biggest challenges was feeling overwhelmed by how broad the field was and not knowing the best path forward. What I enjoyed most about the program was the hands-on learning, structured curriculum, and strong support system. The projects made concepts much easier to understand, and the mentorship/community was incredibly helpful whenever I had questions or needed guidance. Since joining, I’ve gained real technical confidence and practical experience with data engineering tools and workflows. The program helped turn something that once felt overwhelming into a much more achievable career path. I’d definitely recommend DE Academy to anyone serious about learning data engineering. The combination of structure, real-world projects, and support makes a huge difference, especially for people coming from a self-taught background.

I am so happy with the support and feedback I am receiving from my Coach Ryan. When I have any questions I am able to ask and within 15-20 minutes I have 2 to 3 different people responding to my questions and offering solutions to help me. The resources I have access to and the support within the program are amazing. I am coming from a none tech field and have been able to learn new skills very quickly.

My experience so far has been great working with DE Academy. The team is very supportive and organized. They keep you focused with regular check-ins that helps me stay on track. The content is very easy to follow and uses practical examples which makes things easier to understand and grasp. I would highly recommend someone looking to up skill.

I appreciate the detail given to the assignments, the assistance with the resumes, and the job search support. Osaki has been really helpful with the check-in calls, and the coaches have been responsive to questions I had about the setup and material.

DEA Success Coaches are super helpful for making you stay on track. My coach Mike, checks on me twice a week just to ensure I'm on track with the hours I've committed to learning. He ensured I made use of the one on one office hours when i had challenges. I can now code SQL, and I started from zero.

The team worked diligently to get me a position. With the new changes on where the industry is going, finding the right job has been a real challenge. Every day, my success coach Mehnaz and the whole DE application team assigned to me, schedule interviews, applied to roles, and made sure I was prepared. I had previously gone through a Post Graduate Data Science & Business Analyst program. While I learned a lot, it didn’t really prepare me to get a job as a data analyst. I came across the Data Engineering Academy and it seemed like it was exactly what I needed. I came across a lot of negative reviews and was pretty hesitant. But, I figured I would give it a try. So far, I’m extremely happy with it. They created a personalized plan for me to get me where I need to be so I can hopefully land a position. That’s something that I really appreciate. They do a lot for you. I haven’t gotten there yet. But they send out your resume on your behalf. They also help get your resume together and prep you for interviews. I have a personal coach who I meet with every couple of weeks, Ryan Oprea. He’s great! Very supportive and encouraging. And…also not letting me slack off and keeping me on track. There’s also several daily online sessions for questions and answers, going over the lessons and material, etc. I’m happy with everything so far. It’s not easy and you have to put in the work. But it’s exactly what I was looking for. 👍🙂👍🙂
