Learning How To Love My Natural Hair From The Best Doing It
Over the years, I have read and supported several natural hair resources. However, Curl Centric has been the most consistent in posting articles and providing relevant information over the years. I don't usually write reviews, so before I decided to write this review, I researched and found out that Curl Centric has been around for a while, like since the early 2000s. During this time, natural hair information about growing, maintaining, and loving your natural hair didn't exist on the internet. Curl Centric made it their mission to fill the gap and became a cornerstone of the natural hair movement in its own right through ongoing support and empowerment to us. This blog isn't just a site; it's a community spearheaded by a remarkable husband (Kenneth) and wife (Kira) team whose dedication to the natural hair community is genuine and profound. What sets Curl Centric apart is its welcoming and fresh blog. The ads and pop-ups are not overwhelming, which is definitely a turnoff. Early in the natural hair movement, they recognized that while products are essential, a completely separate journey was needed: the journey to loving your kinks and coils that starts in the mind. Their philosophy on mentally transitioning (learning to #BeCurlCentric) resonated with me profoundly, as it goes beyond mere hair care—it's about fostering self-love and acceptance, a transformation that can be life-changing. It's about embracing your true hair and finding the confidence to shine in whatever your texture is. The longevity of Curl Centric is a testament to its authenticity and impact. It's rare to find the original pioneers still actively involved with their original mission, making Curl Centric a gem in the natural hair community. Their insightful content, from Patrick and Keisha's engaging natural hair stories to the educational emails, has been a timely and invaluable addition to my journey. As a parent, I deeply appreciate Curl Centric's inclusive stance, providing coloring books for both boys and girls. These books are more than just pastime coloring pages; they play a significant role in fostering a sense of pride and confidence in my children, reinforcing the beauty of their curly hair. This inclusive approach celebrates diversity and empowers children with curly hair, making them feel seen, acknowledged, and cherished. Like many women with tightly coiled natural hair, I struggled to love my 4B/4C natural hair. However, Curl Centric's resources have empowered me to fully embrace and style my hair that I am now proud to have, transforming my daily hair care routine into a celebration of my hair and identity. In a surprisingly short time, Curl Centric has brought about remarkable transformations in my hair—healthier, more moisturized, and vibrant curls. Their Frame It Approach has helped me build a solid natural hair regime, eliminating my fear and feeling overwhelmed when choosing products. I now have a healthier mindset about my hair, seeing it more positively. Using Curl Centric's resources and actually doing the work made all the difference in my personal transformation and natural hair journey. Curl Centric is an indispensable resource for anyone on the natural hair journey, whether just starting or seeking to deepen your existing practices. With its comprehensive Natural Hair 101 guide and a selection of thoughtfully curated products, it caters to all facets of the journey. Curl Centric, I express my deepest gratitude in this review. Thank you for simply being and providing more. You are an integral part of my natural hair journey. I am proud to #BeCurlCentric and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking to embrace their natural beauty.
