STOP with all the emails
It is the experience of being bombarded with desperate emails every day that makes me hesitate donating in the first place. I donated to three different organizations and Cuddly is the only one that bombards me with emails on a daily basis. Next time I may rethink who may not receive a donation.

Disgusting Price Gauging
I’ve donated plenty of times through Cuddly, every single time it’s reluctantly because of the ridiculous price gauging they do on ALL of their wish list items. Most are over 100% over normal pricing. A pack of wipes that go for $26 on Amazon they charge $53. That’s INSANE & infuriating. Making a profit off of the abuse of animals is disgusting. You want to help then help but don’t line your pockets. I sent an email asking about their pricing and as I’ve seen in all their responses they say they’re too small a corporation to get better deals. I call BS, even a small 3 employee mom & pop store can get better wholesale pricing than you guys say you can get. You could 1000% do better by these animals and rescues. A 3lb bag of designer dog food is not $50 and you bank on us with soft hearts just buying it which obviously is happening bc you’re still in business AND ripping people off. I’ll continue getting Cuddly emails but only so I can contact the rescue directly and put the money directly in their pockets not in Cuddly’s.

Hello, thanks for your honest review. We hear you and we take your feedback seriously.
CUDDLY is a for-good, for-profit organization with a mission to be the champion of animals in need. We do this by directly providing tools and resources to support animal welfare organizations worldwide. The CUDDLY platform empowers these organizations to create fundraisers and wishlists in order to raise funds and receive donated supplies for animals who desperately need help. In turn, donors from all over the world can make a difference by donating to a specific animal or organization.
In regard to the wishlist items in our catalog, our objective is to support animal welfare organizations by helping to provide what they need to help the animals under their care.
CUDDLY works hard to maintain competitive pricing and we do everything we can to keep costs low such as working with pet brands and bringing supplies directly into our warehouse. Any and all donations go towards making a positive difference in the animal’s road to recovery and are greatly appreciated. It is important to note that we strive to keep our platform free for animal welfare groups, as such, a reason for why our products may seem higher priced is because we include the cost of shipping, handling fees, and sales tax. In addition, all wishlist items & donations are tax deductible for donors which is explained in further detail on our FAQ page.
Being for-profit, for-good allows us to offer many additional opportunities to our partners such as being able to fundraise for transport vehicles, paid television advertising, and promotional spots on social media. We also provide an email marketing tool that helps to easily send emails at the most optimal times in order to reach their campaign goals. These are all tools that would otherwise be unavailable or inaccessible for many of our partners.
We hope this response helps provide you with transparency on CUDDLY. We thank you so much for any and all critiques, as we are always working to improve our business. If you ever have any further questions, you can contact our customer service team at [email protected] or (562) 430 8191.

Not so transparent fees.
When I first took notice of Cuddly, they were a brand new startup in Seal Beach, CA. I noted that they are a for profit company (not non-profit) and that they graft fees off of the credit card transaction. Now a year later, they boast 250k regular donors and openly state in their FAQ that they take 7% of every transaction made through Paypal and say it's Paypal fees. They further say that they take 0% from the donations. Well, that's a fib and needs to be addressed. Paypal fees are actually much less than this so part of the money they say is for Paypal is actually "graft" apparently. I've never seen a for profit animal rescue organization, but that's how they seem to make their money. Essentially approx doubling the Paypal fees and claiming they take 0% from non-profits.
If you doubt this information, just look up Paypal fees on Merchant Maverick website. (TrustPilot doesn't allow links so had to remove it. Google them and the word Paypal.)
Scroll down to the chart about 3/4 the way down. Paypal only charges merchants 3.49% and .49 per transaction. So, "Cuddly" aint so cuddly it seems and they bump your so-called Paypal fees up to 7% (per their FAQ).
Anyway, I was always turned off by the name Cuddly because it panders to middle and older aged women who feel like embracing and cuddling the poor emaciated animals they advertise on their website, but many hurt and suffering animals don't want "cuddles". Many abused animals need rest, peace and restoration.
I find this whole enterprise disingenuous - still - on second glance and ask again why they have to be "for profit" at all. Is it so they can make a nice living to live on the California coast? I have never seen good from profiting off of the backs of suffering animals even if they are sending off some money to them.
