To guarantee the long-term success of our business, uphold our dedication to assisting shelters and rescues, and comply with state laws, donors will be kindly asked to cover any applicable sales tax. Sales tax will not apply to monetary-only donations. This adjustment will play a vital role in enabling us to sustain our support for the animals who depend on your unwavering generosity. If you see that you were incorrectly charged sales tax, please reach out to us and we'll get that corrected! We do have a 2.99$ fee for donations, so if you did make a monetary only donation, that maybe what you saw! Concerning the tipping feature, we implemented this option to help keep our platform completely free for shelters and rescues to use. That being said, the tip feature is also 100% optional. I do understand how this can be frustrating, but know that we do our best to keep our campaigns as updated as possible. If you click that sign it will let you know what you are being charged, either taxes or fees. CUDDLY applies a transaction fee of $2.99 to help cover our business expenses and fees from our payment processors. We also retain 10% of monetary donations in order to support our ongoing efforts to keep our service free for animal welfare organizations. We also endeavor to ensure their campaigns are successful by providing tools and marketing efforts at zero cost to them. Below is some general info on our sales tax policy! Our mission is to help our rescue partners raise awareness of the animals they intake by being 100% transparent with our community on the animal's condition. CUDDLY is a for-good, for-profit organization with a mission to be the champion of animals in need. We do this by directly providing tools and resources to support animal welfare organizations worldwide. The CUDDLY platform empowers these organizations to create fundraisers and wishlists to raise funds and receive donated supplies for animals who desperately need help. In turn, donors from all over the world can make a difference by donating to a specific animal or organization. Regarding the wishlist items in our catalog, our objective is to support animal welfare organizations by helping to provide what they need to help the animals under their care. CUDDLY works hard to maintain competitive pricing and we do everything we can to keep costs low such as working with pet brands and bringing supplies directly into our warehouse. Any and all donations go towards making a positive difference in the animal’s road to recovery and are greatly appreciated. It is important to note that we strive to keep our platform free for animal welfare groups, as such, a reason why our products may seem higher priced is because we include the cost of shipping and handling fees. In addition, all wishlist items & donations are tax deductible for donors which is explained in further detail on our FAQ page. Donors have the option to give items, like toys and treats, or donate a monetary donation to the animal of their choosing. Rescuers who join the platform also have the ability to opt-out of the wishlist feature altogether. Rescuers who do choose to use the wishlist feature curate each wishlist themselves to ensure they getting items they truly need or want. While toys and treats don't seem like something a pet "needs" there are many reasons a rescue pet benefits from items on the wishlist. Most of these animals have never owned an item of their own or had a treat in their lives. Rescuers and fosters are not always able to purchase things of this nature due to worrying about medical bills. Toys help boost morale and keep them from further injuring themselves during recovery due to boredom. Being for-profit, for-good allows us to offer many additional opportunities to our partners such as being able to fundraise for transport vehicles, paid television advertising, and promotional spots on social media. We also provide an email marketing tool that helps to easily send emails at the most optimal times in order to reach their campaign goals. These are all tools that would otherwise be unavailable or inaccessible for many of our partners.
