Great service for many years with a great team
I have used CrytpoTaxAudit for my tax preparation for the last three years with wonderful results. When it comes to crypto currency and DeFi, there are lots of nuances to submitting a "complete" tax return. Depending on what sort of transactions you have made throughout the year and what sorts of platforms you have interacted with, there may be very specific ISR requirements for certain forms, declarations and calculations. And that is where these guys really are able to help out. The first time I needed to do a tax return some years ago after getting deep into crypto it became very daunting and stressful. Its quite the learning process to understand how to "correctly" do tax returns when dealing with some implications when using certain exchanges, or when dealing with certain amounts of money, that when dealing with crypto, might technically be outside of US borders or exceed thresholds. This can potentially open you up to lots of filing requirements that you may never realize if you are just a regular guy who usually has very simple tax filing every year that you may do yourself online. The team at CryptoTaxAudit (Clinton, Sarah, Liam, Mary, Mauricio, Amelia, Ben, more) have been amazing in helping me work through all my crypto interactions over the years and ensuring that I am able to file a robust return that I am able to feel confident about when I submit it to the IRS. They have a team that is very diverse and can answer many questions on crypto issues, crypto taxes, tax form requirements, standard tax issues outside of crypto, etc. If you sign up you will get a kickoff video call with a real person who will go over everything with you to understand what your filing needs look like and they will answer any general questions you have. If you have specific crypo to tax questions they will be able to point you to one of the other team members who is more of an expert in the area of that question. They have a simple system for uploading documents. Then they will work closely with you to go over your documents and help identify new documents or information they may need to help prepare everything fully. Once the process and complete they will prepare your return and send you a copy for your review and answer any questions you may have before submitting it. Once submitted you will get an email with the submittal information to the IRS and your state. Now, all this is a service and as such does come with a price that might not be for everyone. If you are just doing a few simple crypto buys and sells on a US based exchange, then you may not need such a robust tax filing service. But if you are more like me, trading on many many exchanges (some which may be based outside of the US), dabbling in less standard crypto currencies, exploring Defi, doing large amounts of trading with large sums of money... Then the price of the service, information, advice, guidance, etc. (in my opinion) will well worth the piece of mind that I have when I do submit all my tax filings at the end of the year. I sleep well at night, not worrying about if I did something wrong or I missed something. I'm already working with them again this year and starting to submit my next years worth of crypto and tax information for my return.
