Extremely disappointed with the subscription model on an already very expensive smart crib. I purchased the Cradlewise expecting the advertised Spotify functionality to work with my existing Spotify Premium account. Only after setup did I discover that the crib’s built-in speakers are effectively locked behind an additional Cradlewise subscription tier. The hardware is already in the crib: - speakers, - Wi-Fi connectivity, - app integration, - Spotify capability. Yet customers are expected to pay a second recurring subscription just to access functionality already built into the product. What makes this worse is that the limitation is not made sufficiently clear during the purchase process. I never would have expected basic speaker playback to require another paid plan on top of Spotify Premium. There is also no AirPlay or Bluetooth fallback option, meaning you cannot even use the speakers locally from your own phone. For a premium-priced baby product, this feels less like innovation and more like feature gatekeeping after purchase. The crib itself is well designed, but the subscription practices leave a very bad impression and seriously hurt the overall value proposition.
