We're continuously improving the algorithm to ensure its accuracy in detecting AI content, but it is important to keep in mind that a balance must be maintained so as not to flag too much content. Content could be flagged as AI-generated if you've used a writing tool such as Grammarly or a translation tool like Google Translate. Text scramblers and humanizers will also trigger an AI result as well. Additionally, seeing your name, institution, or a title highlighted does not mean those words were AI-generated. Because analysis works in contextual blocks, header or footer text inside an AI-flagged block could be be highlighted too. Hi, thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We're sorry to hear the experience hasn't met expectations, especially given how much is riding on these results in an educational setting. A couple of things that may help: Our AI detector has adjustable sensitivity levels (Raw AI text, Lightly edited, Paraphrased & rewritten) so you can tune how aggressively it flags content based on your use case — the default setting may be more sensitive than what you need. On the score changing with small edits like a space or a period: this happens because our model analyzes text in full contextual blocks rather than word by word. For documents near the borderline between AI and human-written, even a minor structural change can shift which "block" the text falls into, which can noticeably move the score. This is a known characteristic of block-based analysis, not a bug, but we understand it can be frustrating and confusing without that context. We'd like to take a closer look at the specific documents that were misclassified so we can either explain what triggered the flag or escalate it if something looks off. Hey Nonya - we're sorry to hear about your frustration. AI detection works like a detective - it is searching for patterns in language that points at certain parts of the text as being considered AI generated or manipulated. There are many reasons why a piece of text can be counted as AI, including tools such as Grammarly that are being used to polish and manipulate text (even gently). Shorter blocks of text could get the 0%/100% more often than longer blocks of text.
