LEXIS-NEXISReviews of consumer.risk.lexisnexis.com

I’m a solo estate planning attorney in California. Since December 2025 I’ve used LexisNexis’s California Automated Templates to draft trusts and related documents for my clients. On September 21, 2026, LexisNexis pushed out a mandatory new version of the product. From that day on, I could no longer trust what it produced. Trusts came out with blank distribution sections. Children I had entered in the system were simply missing from the trust. Provisions changed without warning when I regenerated a document. Finished documents had garbled text and missing names. In one matter, the trust said my clients had no children. If it had gone out that way, it would have disinherited their only child. I caught every one of these errors before a client signed anything. But catching them came at a real price. These families trust me with the most personal decisions they will ever make, and I wasn’t willing to let a single document go out unchecked. So for more than three weeks I read and corrected every page by hand. That meant many, many more hours on every matter and a lot of late nights at the office, doing the exact work I pay this product to do. I did everything I was supposed to do. I reported every problem in writing, sent LexisNexis’s engineers my files and sat through a training session that couldn’t fix any of it. LexisNexis confirmed the problems in writing. Then it announced it was only temporarily going back to the old version, with no timeline for bringing the new one back. When I asked to be released from my agreement, which runs through February 2029, LexisNexis said no. I’m writing this because other attorneys deserve to know that a mandatory update can quietly change what goes into their clients’ documents, and that if it happens, they may be left carrying the cost alone. If you use this product, read every page it generates before your client signs.

My law firm uses Lexis Advance. The company recently "upgraded" its technology. It has been a disaster. It is not unusual to be unable to log in to the service. I go to the log in page and it is simply blank. There is no way around. So far, the only solution has been to wait until it is working again. Part of the service is California's Judicial Council forms. The service has numerous errors preventing my paralegals from completing forms we commonly use. They have repeatedly submitted requests for the technical problem to be addressed. Lexis does not reply. We know Lexis has opened tickets because they have called customer support inquiring about the problems and customer support can see the many open tickets. It's now been over two weeks since the first one was submitted. Not a single problem has been fixed. The only reason I didn't give a one star review is their new AI is useful (when I can log in). It's not perfect. You still need to read the citations to ensure they support the claim being made by the AI. But, it has never hallucinated a citation.

I've been forced to verify my ID 3 times using this software by a solicitor, new employer and to view m shares online, and every time I had problems. Doesn't matter if I use my mobile or laptop, Google or Edge, the software is unable to capture the necessary info. This is an issue both my sisters and my wife have also experienced identical issues. What a useless, expensive and frustrating addition this process is.

HAVE A FALSE INSURANCE CLAIM LISTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MORONS WON'T ACCEPT WHO I AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FALSE CLAIM STILL ON MY RECORD AND WILL FILE BOTH CRIMINAL AND CIVIL CHSRGES AGAINST THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As in-house counsel, I rely on expensive legal research platforms to function reliably. My recent experience with LexisNexis was beyond frustrating. Our account was suspended for alleged non-payment even though I provided a specific billing contact when the account was opened. Lexis sent the invoices to the wrong party despite those instructions. Once a representative emailed me one week ago, I immediately responded and arranged payment through accounts payable, but my follow-up questions went unanswered and we received no notice that the account would be suspended. I spent over 3 hours with customer service and still could not regain access or obtain temporary login access—even though this is commonly provided during service interruptions. Lexis acknowledged internally that the billing issue resulted from their error and said February charges would be waived, but that does not address the disruption of losing access during active legal work. I still do not have access or a guest pass. I also asked for our account manager to contact me. Someone called at 7 p.m., left a message saying they would “try again,” but did not provide their name or contact information. Separately, the Lexis AI tool (Protege) has frequent reliability issues—it often stalls or times out even after troubleshooting with a technical specialist. For an expensive service that legal professionals depend on daily, the combination of billing errors, lack of communication, account suspension without notice, uncaring customer service and unreliable tools is unacceptable.

lexis nexis has a lot of false information on me like my friends house and how much their home is worth . I dont understand why they even have other peoples property listed on my credit report . They say I have a 2019 honda car which I do not and even have me listed as living at my aunts house which I have never even been inside of .they have me as having multiple identities under different name s and that is also not true but what I dont get is why they have 3 different peoples homes on my report that have nothing to do with me. It just dont sit right with me knowing some company is allowed to keep false information on people and even sell this info for profit and it isnt even correct this should be slander on my name as this is affecting me getting credit established . To me this is morally wrong to know that some big company has more rights to my data than I do . They could at least do a little research to make sure it is correct before spreading lies to everyone and selling it should not be allowed if it is public data.yeah nexis lexis I do not trust in you.

I removed my earlier really long rant. I'll summarize: after 187 days from when I started trying to work with Lexis Nexis, I have received another form letter (Email, this time) saying they cannot authenticate me. They need documents. All in all I have talked to them 5 or 6 times on the phone, and uploaded several "document dumps" ( 8 uploads always the same documents, but updated each time for my utility bills) of everything they asked: Drivers license, Passport, utility bills (the latest I uploaded 3 utility bills, 3 months each, a total of 12 pages of documents) and I get rejected each time, except when I don't It is really as confusing as it sounds. My last telephone call with them was late March, I was addressing the lates "failure to autheniticate" letter I got in the mail (Postal mail). After about 5 minutes of answering 15 different questions, the agent could not authenticate me over the phone because I gave him the incorrect mailing address. I asked "this is my address, I'm here. I have your letter sent to me. Here" and he then attempted to explain that even though I get mail here, that is not my mailing address, and that they have a different mailing address in their file and my answer did not match theirs. "Just because you receive mail there does not necessarily mean that is your mailing address". Figure that one out!! The reason for my call is that my report? My file? was all messed up, I was trying to clean it up, and correct it. This was me trying to correct it. This is a truly half-assed operation. They are a data broker that will sell your information to paying clients. There is no verification, there is no records checked. This is all done without the consumers knowledge. Before October 2025, I thought Lexis Nexis was a database for Journalists, I never knew it was a financial reporting broker. My better business complaint went on for 3 months. Their response was to send me more form letters. I have a stack of form letters in my file now. and a bunch in my email. Form letters saying to upload documents to authenticate me. Trying to deal with these guys is a nightmare.
