Last month Con Edison left a notice posted on my building that the Landlord owed $689 in an unpaid bill. He stiffed Con Edison. Then I received a bill, which granted was pretty low. But several years ago without knowing it I was enrolled in Con Edison's program to provide electricity at a reduced rate because I qualified. Sometimes not receiving any bill. I very frugal and try not to waste electricity. Because I did a Google review this months bill was substantially more not unlike before I became enrolled in the program. Something fishy is going on. Con Edison expects the tenants to cover the cost to provide electricity to the building and his indiscretions. So once again he gets off scott free. Con Edison claims not to know where or how to locate him to collect. I told them where is was. I told them to send a collection agency after him, to get a judgment have the building go into forecloser and sold to collect what they were owed. Not to go after the tenants. This extortion. The Landlord is a deadbeat and Con Edison is an extortionist. Don't believe that this anything less then an attempt to raise rates and not because proving electricity costs have gone up or because of infrastructure improvements. This was retaliation pure and simple.

Either my account has been hacked or Con Edison is being run by scammers. I was sent messages about payment arrangement being cancelled that I never set up. I also got billed it appears twice in less than ten days. They are not even honoring the pay by date. This exact thing happened to me with National Grid and now my last bill is so low with that company that I've wondered if they realize there was an error and have made adjustments without informing me of anything. Is ConEdison and other service providers like them using AI? Something is off with these calculations. I have sent an email with my concerns but have not received a response at all!!

I will come straight to the point. Con Ed is price gouging monopoly, and an incompetently run business. Yes they do consistently supply electricity BUT There are supposed to be 4 ways to provide electric usage readings to Con Ed 1. Their representative can come to read your meter but Con Ed now wants to charge an extra $9.99 per month to have that done. 2 You can call them to give them the numbers you see on the meter, but that can be prone to mistakes and eventually they will say some one must enter your home which will cost $19+ They also may not accept the readings. 3 You could send them a picture of the meter but you will get varying responses, such as they can see pictures even though the pictures are very clear, or they will just refuse to accept the pictures for what ever reason. I keep copies of what I send, Stevie Wonder could see these pictures 4 You could have a automatically reader installed but the last installer who attempted was not qualified so it was a wasted day Since I am away from my house for extended periods, I send them pictures every few months, which, they either claim they can no see or refuse to accept, depending on who answers to email . Sometimes they just do not even read the email I continue to pay them even when I am not home and not using much electricity. When I ask them to adjust the bill based on the readings taken from one picture to the next ,they claim they can not make the adjustments going back 6 months. You would think it would just be a matter of calculating what I have paid verses what I used. They are supposed to be buying electricity on the competitive market but when I compare the prices for the same square footage of space even with the use of electric appliances which I have elsewhere, Con Ed charges 3 times a much as another electric supplier in a much hotter climate. Finally even their supposedly level billing is not level billing. At the end of an annual billing cycle customers could still owe Con Ed a lot of money. I can say this because I have a experience with "real" level billing ,which rarely varies in price Unfortunately the alternate energy companies may not offer better choices. However consumers need to keep filing complaints with The Public Service Commission where ConED operates

Dear Diary, Oh, what a day it has been! I can hardly believe the misadventure that unfolded before my very eyes today. You won't believe it either! Let me regale you with the tale of my epic battle with a Con-Edison traffic cone. Picture this: a sunny afternoon, the wind in my hair, and the open road beckoning me to embark on a two-wheeled adventure. I decided to hop on my trusty bicycle for a leisurely ride through the neighborhood. Little did I know that I was about to engage in a dance-off with the most formidable foe one could imagine – a traffic cone. As I pedaled down the street, feeling the rhythm of the asphalt beneath my tires, I couldn't help but notice that the road ahead was blocked by none other than a bright orange Con-Edison traffic cone. Now, these cones are known for their stoic and unwavering presence, but I was feeling particularly bold that day. I thought to myself, "Why should I go around when I can simply go over it?" Oh, what a brilliant idea I had in that moment. I approached the cone with the grace of a ballerina ready to pirouette. I leaned forward, exerted all the power in my legs, and lifted my front wheel, aiming to vault gracefully over the cone like a cyclist in a circus. But alas, my ambitions exceeded my bicycle's suspension capabilities. As I soared through the air, I could feel time slowing down, and the world around me transformed into a slow-motion spectacle. The cone, my arch-nemesis, stood its ground, defying my aerial acrobatics. With a triumphant clang, my rear wheel collided with the traffic cone, and I found myself performing an unexpected mid-air somersault, much to the amusement of passing pedestrians. Gravity asserted its dominance, and I came crashing down in a heap of bicycle and rider. It was a landing worthy of a slapstick comedy! In the end, the traffic cone remained unscathed, and I, on the other hand, suffered nothing more than a bruised ego and some scattered dignity. As I picked myself up and dusted off my pride, I couldn't help but have respect for my formidable foe. It was as if the traffic cone had won a duel, and I had to bow down to its superior balance.
