I met Justin Paperny in November 2019 when he was a guest speaker for a luncheon hosted by the Washington State Society of CPAs. He shared his book Ethics in Motion and talked about his journey of poor ethical choices that led to federal sentencing.
I teach accounting at Whitworth University, and it became clear at that time that his lessons would be valuable for my own students to hear. Since then, Justin and his clients visit my classes two to three times each semester via Zoom to share their personal stories, and students have the chance to interact with them personally. This has been an invaluable partnership with White Collar Advice that enhances the delivery of ethics education, leaving a lasting impression on students about how they too can be vulnerable to making wrong choices that could impact their future career.

My Presentence interview was very easy…With the help of mitigation consultants, has taken all my anxiety away about the future. I am confident. Thank you
My Presentence interview was very easy with the assistance and the help to prepare. This experience was very good. Mitigation consultant helped me in every way that was needed. They answered all my questions immediately at any given time. My presentence interviewer said that my preparation and my presentence report letter was so good that I did her job for her. I am so grateful that I found compliance mitigation before I had this meeting. My experience with this situation, with the help of mitigation consultants, has taken all my anxiety away about the future. I am confident. Thank you

Hire Justin and his team now!!!
Hire Justin and his team now!!!! Hire them yesterday. I found Justin through watching his youtube videos at White Collar Advice and after interviewing several groups who were in the "Prison Consultant" field I settled on Justin and his team and I am am so glad I did. He and his team are more than prison consultants. They are counselors, encouragers, truth-tellers and guides that walked me through the entire process. I am so glad I found them and glad I used them.
I was a dentist who plead guilty to one count of "conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud". After a gut wrenching three year investigation by the Feds, my attorney's and I decided it was in my best interest to plea. As my attorneys said, "this isn't about justice, this is about who wins". Upon my decision to plea, I knew that the fight had just begun. I was in no place to make decisions and did not have an understanding of what was to take place next. I thank God for being able to hire Justin and his fantastic team at Compliance Mitigation. They helped me collect my character reference letters and interviewed my family and friends so I could place myself in the best possible light for the Judge and as Justin says, "prepare myself for the best possible outcome". They prepared me for the sentencing by actively being involved with me and helping me direct my attorneys to achieve my "best possible outcome".
At sentencing, the federal government was pursuing a sentence of 51 months. I received a 33 month sentence and I believe that having Justin and his team navigate with me helped tremendously. My family and I were deeply relieved and thankful for our legal representation and Justin and his team. The federal government does not care about the sentence length or you being away from your families, they care about conviction. I promise you that if you can shave off one month of your time in prison, it is worth hiring Compliance Mitigation. But my story doesn't end there.
Upon surrendering to prison, Justin and the team prepared me for applying to the RDAP program which then led to an early acceptance into the program. Without Justin and his team I truly believe that I would not have been accepted into RDAP nor would I have known about RDAP. As I said earlier, I was sentenced to 33 months in prison. I served only10 months in prison. I did not get out early due to covid but because of the skilled and compassionate preparation given by Justin and the team at Compliance Mitigation. He prepared me mentally for what was to come in prison. He stayed in contact with my family during my time in prison and kept sanity and reality when it was needed. I firmly believe that I served a 10 month sentence because of the professional preparation that Justin and his team provided. I will be forever grateful to Justin Paperny and Brad Rouse and all of the people invloved with Compliance Mitigation.

Good Compliance Saves Money and Heartache!!!
My name is Greg Kling and I have known Justin Paperny for a little over three years. Justin has been a crucial and invaluable resource for our accounting students at USC. Not only do we assign his book, Ethics in Motion, as part of the core curriculum in the graduate and undergraduate Ethics for Accountant courses, but we ask Justin to come back each year to meet with our students and share his experiences and wisdom directly with them. I have seen that students have a much better understanding of the dangers of white collar crime and how to stay ethical after hearing from Justin. I wholeheartedly endorse Justin and his team at Compliance Mitigation!!!

I trust Justin Paperny with my clients
Justin Paperny is the only person I trust with my clients in his area of expertise. As an attorney, I am very particular about who I trust my clients with. Justin has been a resource for me, my clients, and he was kind enough to come speak at an attorney conference I put together in Texas. I highly recommend Justin and am thankful for all the wonderful work he does.

Outstanding Experience
My name is Diane D. Pattison and I am a Professor of Accountancy at the University of San Diego. I have known Justin Paperny for three years. Every year we invite Justin to visit our University to offer lectures and discussions on ethics, compliance, and white-collar crime. We ask our students to read and write about his book, Ethics in Motion. His discussions help students understand the importance of compliance and the dangers of white-collar crime. The student feedback suggests that they value the discussion and gain valuable insight into ethics. More importantly, they reflect upon Justin’s reflection upon the fact that he went through a government investigation, endured the aftermath, and found a way to convert his weakness into a strength.
I’m very grateful to the generous contributions he makes to the Accountancy Programs at the University of San Diego. I am happy to provide this stellar endorsement and a five-star review for Justin and his team at Compliance Mitigation.

A college professor weighs in
I was fortunate enough to meet Justin Paperny in 2010 not long after he started putting his life back together after his release from prison. I was immediately impressed with how he spent his time while incarcerated. He took responsibility for his actions and started working on helping others.
As a college professor teaching graduate classes in fraud, I realized very quickly that Justin would be an excellent person to speak to my students. It was not a simple task to get him to the University of New Mexico, but we made it happen and it was well worth the effort. Justin mesmerized my students with his openness, honesty and advice. Books cannot teach what Justin had to offer that day and I still run into students from my class who mention the impactful day we had with Justin.
I am not surprised to see what Justin has accomplished since we first met and I know this is just the beginning. I wholeheartedly recommend Justin as his background, experience (ethics and compliance training, sentence mitigation, author, lecturer) and understanding of the system (from investigation to post-incarceration) makes him the perfect person to help those in need.

White Collar Advice is the "A" Team
After watching my loved one nearly sink into the abyss of despair and depression in anticipation of his upcoming sentencing hearing, I witnessed White Collar Crime change the course of events of his legal struggle into a victory for our family--in one week.
A plea bargain had been reached and incarceration recommended by the government. Sentencing was one week away. Over the months and years that led to this day, my ex-husband had been sharing with me the videos from White Collar Crime. I had had the opportunity to watch these and to reflect on Justin's dignity, humility, and his organization's admirable mission to help others. I had not quite connected the dots that his personalized help was available beyond these videos. At the eleventh hour before sentencing, I reached out to Justin by email to give thanks for the meaningful material he has put into the public domain.
I never could have predicted what happened next. Justin's immediate reply was gracious and to the point: was my loved one ready for the sentencing hearing? Had he submitted a personal statement and was he ready to speak to the Judge? I lacked confidence about those matters. In fact, my ex's attorney had not addressed what he could personally do to improve his outcome. After a short email exchange in which he expressed his ability to fill in the gaps in the legal defense, we were on the phone with Justin. I realized with clarity that help was available and had been delivered to my doorstep.
That very same day, just 5 business days before the sentencing hearing, Justin Paperny and Brad Rouse were interviewing my ex, helping him compile a personal history that would inform the Judge about who he was. Brad carried the ball over the weekend, and into the long days that followed. The two worked as a perfect tag team along with my ex. This work did more than provide input to the judge absolutely critical to the best outcome, it also enabled my ex to evaluate his own life as one of dignity and accomplishment, in spite of mistakes. It also provided materials to his attorney that were used to advocate for him at the sentencing hearing. Finally, it raised him up enough to work hard with effectiveness in his own defense. The interviews with Brad gave a structure and a work goal to the defendant who was too overwhelmed to do these things by himself.
Working together over those 5 days, Brad and Justin turned the course of events. They interviewed my ex at length, produced the first draft of the personal statement, tailored his oral remarks to the court, and produced an important character reference letter when a friend agreed to be interviewed, all with lightning speed. More than that, the telephone discussions and opportunity to reflect provided a lifeline of reasonable hope at a time that the weight was almost crushing. White Collar Crime provided a way to do the hard work that no family member could help with. The expertise they brought was right on point and their recommendations are sound. The happy outcome was a sentence of at-home supervision as opposed to incarceration.
I have no doubt that White Collar Crime turned a losing game into a win. They took the ball to the one-yard line and boosted my loved one with the confidence to carry it across the goal line in his oral statement to the Judge. I am so glad for the fortuitous set of events that caused them to be on our team. I wish we had not acted so late. I encourage any spouse or family member to get involved early, before the plea bargain, watch White Collar Crime's videos, and realize how their personalized help can be life-changing for your family. Having said that, our experience shows it is never too late (including after sentencing) to seek their expertise. I am eternally grateful to Brad and Justin.

We're incredibly grateful for the generous review you've left for our team, Wendy. We certainly know the anxiety and complexity that accompanies a government investigation—but we also know there is a pathway through.
