Poor instruction/instructors; Not enough time spent on fundamentals.
Coding Dojo (Seattle) seems to place more importance on preparing their students to become Coding Dojo instructors rather than preparing individuals for real-world developer roles. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience with what I witnessed going on (favoritism and instructor-absenteeism) from instructors with ZERO real-world development experience (see above statement), the poor state of the curriculum over my time there (out of date instructions/platform, poor guidance, poor platform construction, not enough time spent on fundamentals, etc.), the fact that we didn't have a stable internet connection for over half our time there (I hope I don't need to explain why this is paramount)... I really could go on where they fell short. I'm glad that because of my previous experience in the industry (I came to expand my existing knowledge base), my career as a developer didn't hinge on the inexperienced, inattentive, and partisan instructors at the Seattle location... but I can't say the same for the rest of my cohort. Obviously, I can't speak to other locations, but I'd steer clear of this one until the organization gets their act together and replaces the poor excuse for instructors at this location.
