Clozemaster is my preferred tool for language-learning and I think it is exceptional. Around 5-6 years ago I was using Duolingo, but I became disillusioned with that site for reasons I explain in my review of them. Around that time I started searching for other language-learning tools, and Clozemaster was one of the alternatives I found. Clozemaster is a lot more minimal, and it primarily is good for learning vocabulary, but it also can teach some degree of grammar and even culture, through passive exposure to a large volume of sentences. Even though it only has one main type of exercise (fill-in-the-blank sentences in the target language with one word blanked out), there are different ways of using it (including a listening mode, which may be useful for the earlier stages of learning a language) I find it is exceptionally well-designed. The site is also very quick to use, like you can go through the exercises very quickly and this makes it efficient as a learning tool. Lastly, the team who maintains this site is really on top of it. I've reported bugs, including things that are a little tricky to fix, and seen them fixed in a matter of days. The main person who is in charge of things reads the forums and actively responds to user concerns, and he's a good listener and really on top of maintaining the site. I am a paying subscriber, but you don't need to subscribe to the paid version to get a lot out of this. There are also a huge number of target languages available, much more than Duolingo, Lingvist, and many other language-learning apps and sites, and many of the languages actually have good audio. If you're serious about learning a language, I recommend checking out Clozemaster, as it is among the best tools out there.
