ClassicShaving.comReviews of classicshaving.com

Let me begin by stating that for most razor based experiences and products, Classic Shaving is mecca. It is the one site that I got to for products such as after shave colognes, strops, straight razors, and the such. My experiences have also been somewhat good with the people. However, the reason for the low rating comes from my experiences with their rating service. I have posted product reviews on sites such as Amazon, TripIT, Sierra Trading Post and others. Many have been good; some have been negative. Yet, they were posted. I ran into a problem with a ClassicShaving.com product - a shaving brush that four weeks into its life began to shed its hairs. This was the first time that something like this ever happened to me. Ultimately, I had to throw the product away because it became useless. I received a reminder from ClassicShaving.com to post a review (I had reviewed products before). I posted my negative review - only to find that it was not posted. Fine - could be a computer glitch. I tried again - same result. After three attempts, I came to realization that this site would only accept positive reviews. This is not fair and right. Let the reader review the comments and come to their own decisions. If it was not for the suspect quality of the reviews, this site and the company associated with it would be five stars.

A website that sells fine goods which are hard to come by elsewhere. When something goes wrong, and it often does, it is up to the customer to get things straight as the customer support is always at a loss, mixing up shipping and billing addresses repeatedly, unable to stick to once quoted prices, sending out the wrong articles, unable to find ordered goods, etc. However, with some effort on the part of the customer, it always turns out right at the end.

I ordered some shaving soap but I had two problems. 1. After you order one soap, you have to go all the way back to the start page and make about 3 selections to get to the soap page again. Very tiring. 2. On one of the scents I definitely checked for 2 of them, but when I got to the shopping cart it was only quantity one, I didn't notice that, and thus got one less soap than I had wanted.

I have purchased Crown Shaving Co After Shave Tonic, travel sized cologne, Shave Cream, Soothing After Shave Lotion, and Body Powder. While the delivery was quick for each order and I enjoy the look of each product, I cannot understand why they do not share the same scent. The Tonic and cologne are closely related, but are very strong. I would rather have a line of products that smell like the Body Powder or Shave Cream. I have used other brands of shaving products which have a similar scent line. It may be just me. Dont get me wrong, Crown Royal Co has great products. I will be keep buying the powder and shave cream because they smell nice. Thank You

BLUF: The issue is fixed, I love the razor, but issue could have been handled better. The first (Hart 7/8) razor arrived with a defect in the blade. It had what looked like a crack or large gouge. I called for a replacement and they asked me to send a picture first. I sent a picture and they provided a return shipping label. However, they did not send a replacement immediately. They waited to get the defective razor, inspect it and then sent out a replacement. By the time they received the defective razor, I was leaving town for two weeks in four days on Friday. I called and told them I was leaving town and did not want the razor arriving after I left. They said they would send Tuesday priority mail. They sent it Wednesday First Class. It was in my mail when I returned. This razor blade was fine, however the scales were cracked by the pin. They said there are normal superficial cracks in wood and they would send replacement scales if I wanted. I am a woodworker and know when wood is cracked. I asked for new scales and the said they do not have the same wood available (cocobolo). They could send another wood. I received the new scales (rosewood) a week later. Neither razor was "shave ready." I am still tuning the edge, not what I would expect from a $320 razor touted to be shave ready.

I like using classics shaving but I never received my whole order the last time I ordered from them

The container size shrunk and the price increased. The quality doesn't seem like it used to. If you know what noxema feels like which is a very thin product this cream has that same quality. However product arrived promptly on my doorstep.
