Certainteed Warranty Sucks
The 35 year roof shingles warranty sold us on these shingles, but when they failed, CertainTeed requires unreasonable demands to honor their warranty, including sending them defective shingles for their examination. Our front porch ceiling started to crack due to water from the roof. We sent them pictures, but they insist on a roofer examining our roof, sending damage shingles to them, etc. How can the specific shingles be identified, what happens to our roof if shingles are removed? Their demands to honor their warranty are unworkable and unreasonable. Communication with this company proved unacceptable! Their warranty is a sham. The final straw is if they approved the claim, they would replace the very few defective shingles. The roof is not covered by their warranty, only individual shingles. 🤪
