This company took over Walmart Fleet…
This company took over Walmart Fleet when it was sold to them by Walmart. The company name on all the Walmart equipment that we were using was changed to Commerce Link. I had been a truck driver with Walmart since Walmart decided to have a maritime fleet. Commerce Link, took over the trucks and all the equipment required to make store deliveries. Since then, the standard of equipment maintenance has completely collapsed. The mileage on these units that we had new in 2023 is north of 900,000 km. None of the seats work properly. No adjustments are possible as all the adjusting mechanisms are broken or ripped off the seat. Most heating and ventilation systems are broken entirely or not functioning correctly. Despite drivers constantly requesting repairs, Commerce Link does not allow the vehicles the required care as it is deemed too costly in time and money. Any complaint by a driver is seen as dissent and always leads to dismissal. The vehicles themselves are absolutely filthy. Outside and inside. We used to be issued cleaning materials to wipe down interiors when we were Walmart Fleet(no dedicated trucks-different truck every shift). That ended when we were taken over by Canada Cartage/Commerce Link. Over this last winter, most drivers have been sent out into blizzards with trucks that were displaying warning lights across the whole dash. Non functioning safery systems like ABS, Traction Control, Automatic Collision Control and others. I have photos and videos confirming all this. We were told to take the equipment "as is" because the loads must get to Walmart. In 50 years of truck driving, I have never worked for a company with such a complete disregard for the safety and wellbeing of their drivers and the public who are using canadas roads.
