Had a meal there on Saturday 22 August 2026 We ordered wild halibut and swordfish The fish was completely dry and overcooked disgusting Probably cooked and reheated Chunky chips hard inside (undercooked) Fish and chips for our son in law was just ok nothing special This is a place to make money first and that’s show The people making food behind counter looked very bored and not very happy They gave us discount on the bill but left the service charge on I would definitely go elsewhere for quality food and service Will never return to that place

I would have given no stars if it had let me. The attitude of the staff at front reception was nothing short of severely disappointing. When we arrived we were offered a table with high stools. But due to a family member having a disability we could not take it. But instead of trying to rectify the situation they blamed me for not ticking a drop down box. I apologised and we asked if we could wait for a table with normal chairs to become available. The reply staggered us. Because of my mistake they could not accommodate this request with a like it or lump it attitude. I worked in the catering trade for 46 years and I never treated anyone with a disability like this. Trust me I WILL never come to this establishment again.

A delightful lunch at this classy restaurant. The beetroot, turnip and goat cheese salad was just right, and the Dover sole, the day’s special, served simply with a brown butter sauce and samphire was great. The welcoming atmosphere was enhanced by our friendly waiter - but perhaps the sea breeze blowing in was a bit too close to nature?
