Unprofessional and hostile service
On Friday, we took a taxi from Hove to Worthing and Littlehampton at around 12am. Driver number 821 registration EJ69UAO. We clearly explained to the driver at the beginning of the journey that we required two drop-offs: one in Worthing and one in Littlehampton. When we arrived in Littlehampton, I asked the driver to drop me off outside my house, as we were already driving past it on our way to the station. This was directly on our route and would have required nothing more than a brief stop. However, the driver became aggressive and started shouting at both my friend and me, insisting that he had not agreed to three stops and refusing to stop. After I explained that my house was directly on the way and that stopping would cause no significant inconvenience, he eventually agreed to let me out. However, his attitude throughout the interaction was extremely rude, hostile and completely unprofessional. To make matters worse, he then continued towards the station, charged my friend an additional fee, and failed to drop her off at the station as expected. Leaving a female passenger alone late at night in an unfamiliar and isolated location is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about passenger safety and customer care. I am extremely disappointed with this experience. Passengers should be treated with courtesy, respect and professionalism, not subjected to shouting, hostility and unreasonable behaviour. I strongly urge Brighton & Hove Taxis to investigate this incident and ensure that their drivers uphold appropriate standards of professionalism, politeness and passenger safety.
